I asked ChatGPT to estimate memory requirements of a brain simulation, with neurons from a paper linked in OP post ("Single cortical neurons as deep artificial neural networks"). This paper uses neuron models that are supposed to simulate real ones. The answer was 8-50 PB, with 10^7 weights shared between neurons, or 3.4 EB if each neuron has its own 10^7 weights. So it's not out of the realm of possibility.

While taking and hoarding as much as possible, as fast as possible. Oh and Elon had a brief episode of trying to fire people from government jobs.

You can also sell them your children, if they're hot. It's like printing money!

That's true but it's also what Bitcoin did 13 years ago, meanwhile all the hype about taking over the world doesn't seem to be coming true.

So that Twitter user started talking about Wikipedia funding the "culture war", and I stopped reading. I guess it's my own fault for reading what an anime avatar has to say.

Because the brown ones got eaten. But that's different from evolving to recognize where a road is, which is maybe possible but probably would take thousands or millions of years.

If there were that many of organized climate protesters they would be heard as well, it always comes down to numbers and potential for violence.
