If we don't have due process, in that, you can't go and defend yourself in public court, nobody here is really legal or not. It doesn't matter if your birth certificate is in the other room. Without due process it's whatever the ICE agent that's bagging you feels like. What are you gonna do? You don't get due process, you get no court hearing, you get the pleasure of getting onto a plane and flown out to a slave labor prison in El Salvador. Also Garcia had full legal permission to be here but it shows they never checked it and thus he was whisked away like we can expect other's to be if things stay on the current path.

Opposing the support for another foreign nation's genocide is not a support of terrorism? I mean you can look up Khalil's involvement in the Columbia encampments. He was a spokes person and negotiator to end Columbia's investment in Israel's apartheid regime. He did not give Hamas or any militant organization any type of material aid. The administration has already admitted yesterday in a memo after/during his immigration hearing that he has not acted unlawfully. In short they don't have anything on him, because you can't be arrested and deported for thinking something or having an opinion and sharing that opinion.

Just to be clear this sever only works with the current vanilla version of Minecraft? I've been interested in playing again, but on the older Beta builds (1.7.3) prior to the full release versions. These versions aren't supported are they?

Re:Ask HN: Any podcast to recommend to learn technologies?

Programming Throwdown has been running since 2012 or so I believe. They've covered most languages and topics but still find new technologies to talk about!

Isn't this similar to the concept of Paper Towns?

I think what they mean is that to "Kayak on the internet" is to post yourself evidence of Kayaking on the internet. Such things would require a camera (if you want a good visual component) to show off your Kayaking adventures
Re:Tell HN: The regret of parenting and how to handle it

I'm pretty sure this is referring to the scenario where you either have kids or are expecting kids soon. Only once you become a parent do those non-parenting ambitions seem childish.

I agree. I wondered what your comment was referring to at first but then I realized the irony and let out a little chuckle.
Re:Ask HN: How to be less opinionated?

I've always been interested in differing experiences with discussing politics and religion especially outside of talks with close friends and loved ones. Outside of that it's almost always uncomfortable.

I don't have much to contribute to your post but I feel a lot of these struggles in my life. With opinions relating to technology I think most of it comes to me not having an industry experience (still in university). With topics such as politics or history sometimes I feel I can't have an opinion unless I've read a book or done very extensive research on a topic or field. I've recently tried to use your second point of lowering the bar of what constitutes a good strong opinion, but like you said it depends a lot on the situation and audience.

Part of me wants to refute because we've always dealt with civil unrest, even major upheavals in empire such as the West Roman civilization collapse. But we live in strange times so who's to say what a new unrest may bring. I just doubt civil unrest is what will do us in when compared to unmitigated climate change in the long run
