Re:Do dentists know what they're doing? on Thursday October 15, 2026 @05:01AM (#50101076)
fuck this article was too real for me

i couldnt afford the $10k gum grafts needed to get the $10k braces needed for the $90k jaw surgery that might not work, so my teeth have just been rotting and my face morphing into a strangers

i've seen like ~20 oral professionals since this started n none of them agreed with each other. anything i caught early was brushed off until it was too late

ive become so disillusioned with doctors in any field

the more i visit the less i think any of them care or have a desire to learn

just regurgitating textbooks (dont get me started on psychiatrists,,,)

it sucks

the dentist i'm seeing now is good but he has a bunch of scientology pamphlets at the front desk. weird vibe

yes, gatekeeping has much more merit than given credit for. ive seen many communities, ideas, companies, online and off that have been ruined by their growth past a certain point. ive wondered if it's a "when everyone's special no one is" thing but maybe it's just a primal human community thing. idk
>Also the software / programming subs are just spam hell now.

"i got tired of x so i built y" is my entire feed. none of my niches are safe. heartbreaking

Re:AI-generated posters don’t have to be horrible on Saturday September 19, 2026 @12:51PM (#49768101)
my exact thoughts. i clicked on that fb post and someone in the comments linked their non-ai poster and i was just like, oh..that event seems way less exciting and fun and spring. i want to agree w the premise of the article but all the examples are worse and spark no desire in me to go to the fayre
thanks, done. i did handwrite a message since it seems more personal/effective to me
condylar resorption https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Condylar_resorption

its when the tmj sorta dissolves and ur jaw/facial structure collapses as a result. now my airway is like a millimeter

i developed a health issue that has affected my breathing over the past few years and i am cognitively and emotionally destroyed, it has made me realize that breathing is really important
