He successfully spread his DNA and ideas everywhere. He is objectively a success, playing at the highest level possible.

And what is it that you do?

Too funny

No one cares
Re:Nitter: Update Oct 10th seeking funding and legal help on Monday October 12, 2026 @10:27AM (#50056948)
Weird reply. Communists blurt out the most pointless insults when they have no argument.
Re:Nitter: Update Oct 10th seeking funding and legal help on Monday October 12, 2026 @10:25AM (#50056925)
> Yes, all of them were.

None of them were, so in this case “nuh uh” is the intellectually appropriate response.

Loud and wrong, it’s the commie way. Carry on. No one cares.

> You’re not responding to anything I’m actually saying

I’m demonstrating your lack of value and your unclear thinking. My statements are plainly factual, which is why any marxist will absolutely hate them.

> Here are four: Yamah Freeman, Gbessey Kiadu, Ibrahim Koroma, Achol Deng. Please retract your statement.

None of those people were murdered by Elon Musk. So we have confirmed that you were wrong.

> In short, please educate yourself and refrain from posting further fascist talking points until you do so.

This tactic is too funny. I’m well educated, smart, and will never do what you want.

Re:Nitter: Update Oct 10th seeking funding and legal help on Sunday October 11, 2026 @10:37AM (#50043763)
> I would strongly encourage you to stop doing that.

Really unconvincing argument. It’s just marxist straw grasping. I will continue on normally, but thanks for the suggestion.

Re:Nitter: Update Oct 10th seeking funding and legal help on Sunday October 11, 2026 @10:01AM (#50043402)
If you’d like to continue believing that success is immaturity, or that freedom of speech is fascism, then that is certainly your prerogative.
Re:Nitter: Update Oct 10th seeking funding and legal help on Sunday October 11, 2026 @09:48AM (#50043281)
> Do my part to frustrate a man-child.

Who’s the man-child here though? Elon is running multiple companies, spread his DNA and ideas everywhere, and makes a very real impact on the world every day.

And then there’s you. Who believes it’s “noble” to frustrate someone you don’t like. In reality, you’re not frustrating anyone but yourself.

So I ask again.. who’s the man child? Elon? Or you?

And who’s the fascist? The man minding his own business, and doing his thing? Or the guy who desperately wants to tell that man what to do?

I appreciate that you noticed that I didn’t bother. Why would I? Are you someone I should care about?
I don’t need to be in “the club”. Some people badly want that. Let them have it. Why would I have a problem with an executive changing jobs? Because he gets paid more money than me?
The execs are fine. The barrel crabs certainly are getting active though. It's pure, unadulterated envy. Nothing more.
Workers are so much more militant and punitive than executives. It's not other executives that will try and hurt his career because he made a decision and went with it. It will be the worker bees that will attempt to hurt him 5 years down the road -- without even knowing the full story.
A counter-argument to what? That if you take 90% of someone’s wealth that has $10,000,000 they’re still a millionaire?

Yeah, they’d still be a millionaire.

I didn’t bring up federal tax policy but since you did, I’ll point out that what you think is happening is not happening. The winds aren’t going quite where you think they’re going. The “steal other people’s money” coalition has virtually no power or relevance federally. They have no power or relevance in Florida.

No one is going to be fleeing. There isn’t even going to be a fight, because that fight already happened. Tariffs are in full swing. The left tried to stop it. Consumption taxes are the future. The good guys won.

I’m glad that that my state isn’t run that way. Your assumptions about consumption taxes across income brackets not scaling is factually inaccurate. If sales tax is fundamentally a tax on the poor, then so is an income tax.

Florida is one of the lowest taxed states across all income brackets, and even provides good social programs.

I’m glad that people who want to tax the rich to death for the sake of a crusade that isn’t even needed don’t have much of a voice in my state.

Florida state sales taxes aren’t a VAT, and Florida is consistently in the top 5 for lowest taxed states in the country.
It's true that the order only impacts state highways. It removes approximately 700 license plate readers and then also leaves thousands still up locally. However, in my county, the Sheriffs dept is actually taking them down voluntarily, because of the positive political reception of the state-road ban. And its happening in other jurisdictions near me.

A lot of people instinctively believe Florida only does dumb stuff, but we really do have quite responsive people in charge here. From where I sit, I see good movement on the whole Flock issue in my state and county.

Florida has permit-less, constitutional open-carry. Not sure what more you could ask for from a 2A perspective.
Yes, it really is. Florida is a cultural punching bag, and we take that in stride too. We have a balanced budget, no state income tax, and no flock cameras. We are close to abolishing property taxes as well. Our natural disaster response is some of the most robust anywhere in the world as well.
Nope. Florida simply led the way and calmly banned Flock cameras from the entire state. Every other state that cares about individual liberty should follow suit.
In Florida, we just talked to our reps and got them banned from the entire state. It was easy and didn’t require protests at all.

Yes, pretending is what you’re doing.
Re:I haven't lost a customer service fight in seven months on Friday September 11, 2026 @12:43PM (#49661389)
Whatever behavior you’re pretending is engaged in by the right certainly isn’t happening on this website. Leftism requires censorship to function. These mods know exactly what they’re doing.

Well your team never fails to flag my comments when I am espousing a viewpoint that goes against an established community view, such as manic, unhinged hatred of America’s current leadership, or if I’m critical of Europe’s ability to ship a meaningful volume software products.

I have no idea if you’re an ideologue or not, but my perception of the moderation team here is that political ideology and general SV narratives dominate your moderation strategy.

While we’re on the topic — it would not be very costly for you to employ a local LLM cluster and work queue to auto-moderate geopolitical topics that aren’t “tech enough” from ever seeing the light of day. Because the way it’s working now is the “I hate Trump” people spew the most insane flamebait imaginable, but they ensure ALL replies that disagree are flagged.

Clear thinking and rationality is not being prioritized here like it used to be. If your team is trying to do that, then whatever methodology you’re using is not working.

We can’t lose HN. But it feels like we are.

There are lots of smart people here. It’s super odd that you keep doubling down and pretending you’re right. But not everyone here is smart; it’s true.
Re:Flock Wants a Closely Surveilled World with No Exit on Wednesday September 09, 2026 @08:46AM (#49625660)
Florida already banned them from the state entirely.
Re:FBI Probes Service Selling 153M+ Drivers Licenses on Friday September 04, 2026 @11:48AM (#49566317)
You might be back down to zero progress and if that’s true you have my genuine sympathy. I look around and all I see is great progress everywhere. I don’t care much about social politics though. People being mad at each other about whatever offense is popular today just doesn’t register with me.
Re:FBI Probes Service Selling 153M+ Drivers Licenses on Friday September 04, 2026 @11:45AM (#49566283)
You are of course free to pretend that legalese and case-law should dictate the use of ordinary words — to the point of ascribing malice to those who don’t do that.
Re:FBI Probes Service Selling 153M+ Drivers Licenses on Thursday September 03, 2026 @06:48PM (#49558187)
It's completely genuine, and it's obvious that I was referring to the basic meaning of the word the entire time to even a casual observer. Ascribing malice seems a bit irrational to me.
Re:FBI Probes Service Selling 153M+ Drivers Licenses on Wednesday September 02, 2026 @02:19PM (#49540252)
You and that other guy made good points from a constitutional law standpoint, don’t misunderstand my disagreement for dismissal of any kind.

A legal term of art is often a bit different than the basic word itself. From a legal term of art perspective, I’m essentially referencing “absolute sovereignty”, which would more closely mirror the actual dictionary definition of sovereignty, as a basic, contextless word.
