Re:Achieving AI-style reasoning without an LLM on Thursday October 22, 2026 @07:07AM (#50193766)
I wouldn't even mind it if it weren't so blatantly lazy (lazier). It's always that off-putting overly busy default look. Like, you couldn't even be bothered to ask for some refinement.
Re:The Future of CSS on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @03:52AM (#50177392)
Here's another prediction in the ocean of them we're swimming in right now: websites won't matter. When you have a general interface that can present data however you wish, being restricted by the whims of designers will seem prehistoric.
Re:What agents mean for Rust (and vice versa) on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @07:41AM (#50086099)
You are getting unfairly downvoted for speaking the truth. Well, except for the compile-time being fast.

Yes. It was predictive programming for getting (paper)clipped by AI.

Which is it?

No, they indeed were thinkable. That's why there's been progress.

Replace 'explain' with 'sell'. Don't forget that it's a gold rush. There's no reason to sympathize with corporations in their rush for the slice of the pie.

> The “AI” industry has many flaws, the word “consent” being seemingly missing from training data and company handbooks is one of them

Yes! The most consentless (don't underline this in red firefox!) technology that I can think of certainly.

edit: also install and use Linux

Heh you write like someone from 4chan. That's not what the author is saying though.

If you create a machine for laziness you're going to get lazy people. It's only going to get worse I'm afraid.

Do you guys think we're going to see a de-evolution of human beings due to technology?

Certainly money well spent and technology properly utilized. Could have learned an actual skill instead.

It's always funny seeing people that write like this as if they are somehow exempt from the future we're seemingly rushing into. Bro, you prooompting yourself into unconsciousness is not going to make you not obsolete. Unless you're being sarcastic in which case poe's law.

It's been really interesting to see all the desperation on hero pages for all these products and services ever since AI came into prominence. I think the funniest for me was opening IBM DB2 product page and seeing it labeled as 'AI database'. Hysterical.

> why, or, what is meant by More errors caught at compile time means an agent can quickly check their work statically without unit and other tests.

You're right that zig is vaporware - not because of other languages - but because programming is going away entirely.

Just in case you're honestly wondering I was referring to this: http://danger-hair.urbanup.com/10247309 Also, don't be disingenuous. It's about signaling not fear.
Re:Zig Libc on Tuesday February 03, 2026 @01:01AM (#46867091)
I just want to say that I agree completely with you here. I had a suspicion of what kind of person Andrew was when I saw him with colored hair (so called 'danger hair') and basically knew it was over.

This is so incredibly wrong it must be a troll.

Re:The Case That A.I. Is Thinking on Monday November 03, 2025 @02:07PM (#45803005)
There is principle of the matter and then there are exceptions. We say that women can give birth. That holds true in principle even if there are those who can't due to biological failings.
Re:ANTML: Anthropic’s Markup Language on Friday October 31, 2025 @01:46AM (#45768782)
I had an idea for a new markup language. I'm thinking of being cheeky and calling 'Yet Another Markup Language'. Hope it catches on!

Are we on bizarro HN?

No, you ask the DB to EXPLAIN itself to you.

That goes for all (active) software really. Otherwise people call it obsolete or abandoned.

There's a reason Windows went from 'MyComputer' to 'This PC'.
