I am rooting for the Chinese models to win so they can save us from our capitalist overlords.

However, the quality of the open-source Chinese models is terrible. They game or fake their benchmarks because in real-world usage they suck.

It wasn’t predictable that he would start a war.

The GPT-4 demo. Taking a screenshot of handwritten instructions to build a website, along with a drawing of what the website should look like. Then ChatGPT spit out a working prototype.

Also the live video mode demo later that year.

Then the agentic coding breakthrough in Nov/Dec 2025.

It’s like having a team of full-time interns running in the cloud building your software

There's always Stripe Atlas, which would give you a US-based business Stripe account, but for solopreneurs I'd recommend Paddle or Gumroad.
The chilling effects it will have on free speech should not be discounted, though. Despite the patchy enforcement and relatively small fines, people will self-censor rather than risk saying anything "illegal".
