Vienna will support older MacOS releases for longer. Our development has been slow the past couple of years due to maintainers having big life changes. Things are about to pick up so keep an eye out!
Re:macOS Icon History on Saturday July 05, 2025 @07:10PM (#44476301)
I tried to find a site with more examples than the linked post, and I think https://guis.org/macos/icons/ is a pretty good overview for those who may be interested.
Re:Ethiopian wolves reported to feed on nectar on Monday December 02, 2024 @06:53PM (#42301681)
you should send off for genetic testing and see!
Re:The Cheapest NAS on Thursday July 04, 2024 @09:37AM (#40874856)
Could you please share how you went about configuring your Apple devices to automatically switch to VPN?

Thanks!

It's probably not quite the same as you describe but have you tried Good Fortune Roast Duck House? It used to be so good and melt in your mouth.
Re:Twitterrific Has Been Discontinued on Thursday January 19, 2023 @09:35PM (#34448506)
I'll have a go at building it and if I'm successful I'll let you know. I honestly thought a proper fork would have started by now but that is not the case.
Re:Twitterrific Has Been Discontinued on Thursday January 19, 2023 @05:11PM (#34446391)
Honest question - I've been using Ivory for the past week but it doesn't seem to do anything that Metatext or the Mastodon app didn't already do. What's so fantastic about Ivory? I feel like I'm missing something because everyone speaks so highly of Ivory.

Thanks!

Not quite unfortunately - the new Planning Minister caved to the property developer lobby: https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2022/apr/09/plan-...

Excellent ! Thank you!
Re:Signal Is Down on Monday September 27, 2021 @12:25AM (#28667074)
It isn't working for me, and strangely enough the signal Twitter account has no mention of the outage. Their status page also claims everything is operational.

At least there is an in app notification about technical difficulties but it would be nice to see from an official source if it is an isolated incident or not.

Re:I interviewed Brian J. Fox, the creator of Bash on Thursday September 02, 2021 @06:10PM (#28398004)
I met him too at an Apple store in Sydney. He must travel a lot!
Re:Why do printers still suck? on Wednesday November 04, 2020 @12:42AM (#24986637)
I have this exact printer and I love it. Just bought another toner cartridge (non-Genuine) for it.
Re:Ask HN: What RSS Reader do you use? on Friday October 02, 2020 @07:50AM (#24661639)
I'm one of the current Vienna devs and I want to say it makes me happy seeing that people still enjoy using it.

We have some new updates planned over the next few months and hopefully you (and the parent comments) enjoy them!

Re:From Rust to TypeScript on Saturday September 12, 2020 @05:51PM (#24456167)
I think because the return type hasn't been specified for the function, so it is inferring the return type from the return statement (which means it is "correct").

Don't forget JavaScript (and therefore typescript) will let you concatenate a lot of random types together without error.

Not the original commenter but at my place we generally don't clean ours... and they are usually not soiled. Making sure we change out the straw in the nesting box regularly helps a lot.

I also crack the egg on a flat surface so the shell doesnt get pushed inwards.

We're getting the same issue in our RSS reader (Vienna RSS). Not sure how to deal with it currently.
Re:The sad state of RSS on the Mac on Friday July 20, 2018 @06:22PM (#17579465)
Vienna developer here: Thanks for the suggestion - I’ll work on fixing the website this weekend.

We had some issues with Wordpress a year ago and I haven’t got around to finishing the site.

In Australia you bring your own whitegoods but stoves are usually built into the kitchen.
Re:Microsoft Is Said to Have Agreed to Acquire GitHub on Sunday June 03, 2018 @08:14PM (#17223366)
I was thinking part of Office 365 - collaborative dev tools are the missing piece for most businesses.

There wouldn't be a major need for Jira, GitLab, etc for the most part.

Re:About the security content of macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 on Tuesday January 23, 2018 @06:14PM (#16218797)
High Sierra has an option for a Mac to cache updates and serve them over the local network to other macs.

This feature used to only be in macOS Server but is now in normal macOS too.

Re:Apple Power Macintosh G5: Flame On on Monday November 27, 2017 @07:08PM (#15793040)
FreeBSD is definitely the best OS to put on the G5. I have a dual core 2.3 GHz model with 8GB of RAM running perfectly on a ZFS installation.

The new beta navigation is so much better than the current navigation model. The navigation context is now easier to see and I find the colour quite attractive. :)

I can't wait until it is enabled by default in future versions.

Nice change - it's a shame this got buried.

Re:Npm v5.0.0 released on Friday May 26, 2017 @04:30PM (#14426912)
You can do the same thing with npm and yarn as well by referencing the git+https URL and a tag/branch/commit instead of a version number.
Re:Apple acquires sleep tracking company Beddit on Tuesday May 09, 2017 @11:42PM (#14305768)
I use Autosleep too. Like you said, it's not fantastic but it does the job and it's nice that you can fine-tune it based on how restless you are normally at night etc.
