Emacs vterm can do this. It's the only terminal emulator I'm aware of that can, because it seems nobody else cares. It can even backspace and delete all the text selected.
Moltbook is a copy of the many years old r/SubSimulatorGPT2, which was itself a copy of SubSimulator. Not seeing the AGI here exactly, but it's cool I guess. Frankly, I saw more creativity from plain GPT 3. The typical molt book posts are homogeneous and self-aware posts on AI topics like this https://www.moltbook.com/post/74a145c9-9c44-4e82-8f0a-597c41....

A bit off topic: but what's with the ram usage of LLM clients? ChatGPT, google, and Anthropic all use 1+ GB of ram during a long session. Surely they are not running GPT 3 locally?

Apple released the first magsafe battery years ago. The battery life is also the same as the 16.

Re:YouTube's new anti-adblock measures on Saturday June 21, 2025 @03:32AM (#44335488)
As a young person, I get perfectly normal corporate advertisements on YT, with the very rare porno dating ad. My parents on the other hand, get a never ending stream of the shittiest scams, AI voiceovers of Joe Rogan and Zelensky, dick pills. It's clear their tracking targets elderly users with scams. I would never pay for YT premium.

Nobody can stop you from putting a black screen over the ad, or a scenic nature video.
Re:OpenAI dropped the price of o3 by 80% on Tuesday June 10, 2025 @03:12PM (#44240309)
I have been using Google’s models the past couple months, and was surprised to see how sycophantic chatGPT is now. It’s not just at the start or end of responses, it’s interspaced within the markdown, with little substance. Asking it to change its style makes it overuse technical terms.
Re:Typing 118 WPM Broke My Brain in the Right Ways on Tuesday June 03, 2025 @05:52PM (#44175167)
A lot of these people who say 100+ wpm or whatever really mean the 15 second test on monkeytype, that only tests words like “the” “that” “because”. It’s different than what an oldhead might mean by 100 wpm ;)
Re:Learn touch typing – it's worth it on Saturday May 31, 2025 @02:49AM (#44142369)
Qwerty is top-row heavy. In my experience, a natural fast typer will naturally lean away from home row "touch typing" to a top-middle row hover style of typing. You have to use an alternate layout to really grasp what home row typing should be. Also, Z (and similar for the whole left bottom row) should be pressed with the ring finger. I'm really curious why anyone would use the pinky there, unless your hand is angled to the left.
Re:Engineer eats efficiently for $2.50 a day (2016) on Tuesday January 07, 2025 @02:07PM (#42626059)
I tried Huel in college as I disliked cooking. I found that I ended up drinking far too much, for each meal you need to mix a large quantity of water with the powder. I ended up eating a diet of sashimi and tartar, tastier and probably better for you.
Re:Apple squandered the Holy Grail on Monday January 06, 2025 @01:46PM (#42613808)
I do wish they continued on this track instead of apple intelligence. I should be enable to click generate audiobook in iBooks and have an audiobook made in any voice of my choosing. Open source solutions are far too slow on macOS, and subpar in other languages.
Re:Spotify is full of AI music on Saturday December 28, 2024 @12:37AM (#42528866)
Fair. Your characterization of AI music is a bit ambitious. AI still can't write a breathtaking short story or poem: it can write a mediocre one of standard themes indistinguishable from a student, but that's it. I would argue that AI images is a special case: a photograph is after all not truly "art".
Re:Spotify is full of AI music on Friday December 27, 2024 @10:27PM (#42528321)
"I like ambient music"

"Elevator generic background music is trash. Good riddance. "

"No, X and Y in the genre are good bands"

"So you agree it is generic elevator music?"

Re:Spotify is full of AI music on Friday December 27, 2024 @07:48PM (#42527527)
He wasn't the one calling ambient music generic unnoticed music.

There's a difference between moving the window and inserting text.
Re:Ghostty 1.0 on Thursday December 26, 2024 @10:25PM (#42519709)
The default macOS terminal app has CMD UP/DOWN to move to previous prompts. This is one of my pet peeves about terminal apps, they seem to lack this command?
Emacs has completion preview mode, which shows the completion inline in grey text. This is what I prefer using at it does not block text, and I am only interested in the top completion 99% of the time.
Re:Grayjay Desktop App on Friday December 20, 2024 @01:39PM (#42473594)
YouTube has become especially horrific. It seems a couple years ago they gave up on video search- after 5 videos it will suddenly start recommending random videos under “you may like”. If I watch one UFC video I am flooded with recommendations of Joe Rogan, despite my subscriptions all being unrelated.
