Re:Are popular toxicity models simply profanity detectors? on Tuesday January 25, 2022 @11:00AM (#30073297)
10 years ago google failed at machine translation and NLP, giving hideous and meaningless statistical translation, same no wonder they fail at language understanding by training algorithm with Indians. They will to do science R&D is lowering every year.
Nice, good old times Pentium is single core again Core i3 to i7 - all dual core But you have several atom cores so you can run your stuff on them, while windows update taking the main ones.
Re:Microsoft to Acquire Activision Blizzard on Wednesday January 19, 2022 @07:34AM (#29992793)
You can now waste your time and money in Windows, Office, Azure and xbox games all with single Live account! Waiting for microsoft to buy junkfood chain and pfizer to complete the experience.
You can’t obviously, but you still can jailbreak ios 9, install any cydia tweaks including desktop, console and emulator apps, as well as downgrade it to ios 6, if more working cydia apps are needed. Of course the are in half dead state, but you still can do whatever you want with iOS (if you know how).

Re:I’m a Data Scientist – Here’s why I work at Facebook on Tuesday October 12, 2021 @04:48PM (#28844871)
IDK about data sciences but facebook keep blocking guys that have surname Khokhlov, which is coincidental to slightly offensive naming of Ukranians.
Typical Microsoft marketing lie, as in last version of windows, windows 10 mobile devices, windows support and so on. Oh wait, they hire consultant to synergise efforts in OKR and drive innovation in right to repair domain according to management indicatives! That’s will be success for sure. Surfaces are highly custom (and badly) engineered and sold in (tens of) thousands. Nobody wish or able to repair them. Nobody even wish to repair new xboxxses. Macs are sold in hundreds millions and getting fixed easily, despite “evil” apple.
May be C# somehow “better” than java, but .NET framework is a burning garbage truck from hell. In all terms.
Re:NSO Group iMessage Zero-Click Exploit Captured in the Wild on Tuesday September 14, 2021 @05:27PM (#28531580)
Come on, since jailbreak discovered (checkm8 as king of it) you can run pretty much anything just on iphone itself including automated tests, fuzzing, debug and crash dump analyses. Break is always easier than build. iMessage plagued with such bugs since 2010, the question is how it is not yet rebuild up to decent quality. Retarded security measures like blastdor or aslr is irrelevant as these mostly a security theatre that just require extra step to avoid.
Re:Operations is not Developer IT on Friday September 03, 2021 @10:38AM (#28404790)

Re:My small revenge on Apple on Wednesday August 04, 2021 @05:57AM (#28059163)
I want to thank you on behalf of Google, Facebook and all third party ad aggregators you selling client tracking and data (including emails). The more app developers will be hostile to their clients, the more profits we can squeeze from our platforms keeping it old new norm. Keep the classy work, don’t forget, it is your app, your rules! Fck users! Fck them hard!
Re:Windows 96 on Wednesday July 28, 2021 @06:02AM (#27982067)

Re:For developers, Safari is crap and outdated on Wednesday July 28, 2021 @03:02AM (#27981072)
Thank you Apple for caring about customers and protect us from all that security and performance nightmare that “standards” forced by google and microsoft intentionally brings in their controlled and spyware infested browsers. I don’t want any WPAs or webRTC or whatever only made to be cheap and poorly imitation of real software. It is great to have apple laptops that lasts long and have privacy protection without compromise!
You guys discussing a complete bs review from a technically uneducated person which was called “lamer” long time ago. “1920x1080, but looks a little pixelated” seriously can’t you just tell for sure what resolution do you have in OS? Acer does not sign it’s laptop BIOSes and it is trivial to read it and unlock/unhide all possible options with ready to use GUI applications from BIOS vendors. This is what people doing for decades, and for Thinkpads you will need a flash programmer and hex editor. So even if there is secure boot lock which i highly doubt, because no relevant detail was present in the review, you can solve it (hack the device that never meant for whatever you want it to do) at least three different ways and the easiest one is not bugging official support, but ask on forums like win-raid and get your instructions and ready to use bios in pm in several days if he absolutely can’t set UEFI himself. I wonder what happen with snowflake when he learn that his Tesla top speed and range also software blocked.

Both statements are wildly inaccurate.
