You realize that bitcoin is money, right?
It's like saying "You can afford to sell me your house for $10k today, afterall you only bought it for $5k back in 1910".
When the BTC was spent at the time of the ETH crowdsale... the person doing the buying compared options of:
A) Selling BTC at prevailing prices
B) Doing nothing
C) Spending BTC on ETH at prevailing prices
Another analogy:
Because you bought a car today for 30k, funded by the 150 shares of AAPL you sold just now.... means you only realy paid 3k for that car because you bought AAPL shares cheaper in the 1990's.
I'm just pointing out the absurdity of the statement and the significant misunderstanding about the nature of capital.
Then going on to talk about the Gini coefficient as though it means anything at all seals the deal that you are out of your depth and just trying to sound smart
The moral relativists would have you believe that these fundamental principles are merely fashions, like the type of coats or hats people wear.
Next thing you know... we will be defining North Korea or Saudi Arabia for sending people to slave work camps because they didn't bow down to the leader fast enough and then brush it off as mere "custom".
Absolutely apalling state of UK in terms of erosion of principles of life and liberty ans freedom.
What's worse than working for a bad boss/company?
Working for a bad boss/company and carrying 50k in debt.
If more people saved 30k to buy a multiplex (and lowered their standard of living) instead of buying a 40k vehicle (and accepted driving a $5k used vehicle)... then they would also have the same security of pulling income.
It will only take a few years of sacrifice and careful saving to achieve this. But it is worth it.
But we have not seen an instance of this yet
Also.... see how they confiscated gold in the USA.
You cannot confiscate bitcoin, anymore than you can confiscate "internet"
Both are networking protocols
This. I'm the same way.
Now I only take 100% remote contracts and now I'm 2-3x more productive than my former office-going self.
Fun tip:
When someone asks "Where are you?" Then the correct answer is:
"Who wants to know?"
There are 2 exceptions:
1. It's your Mother asking. She has a right to know because she gave you life.
2. Your employer, when you are on the click. Because they are paying for your time.
Since I always bill by the hour and time everything to the minute as I go...I can answer them "Where am I" and send them a URL to the thing that I worked on.
If they are asking when I'm explicitly not billing... then either:
A) I ghost them immediately and terminate the contract
B) Ghost them the day after and send them back files after wiping everything clean.
This is the value in having multiple streams of income (rental properties, small contracts and passive income)
