Maybe 90% of people are antiintellectual. Maybe internet is overrun with bots. Maybe they all caught the mind virus /s.

Watch out for misuse of technical jargon. Big red flag. Remember those articles on arxiv claiming to solve reimann that no one can understand because of the disconnected writing style full of technical terms?
If it is possible to save one life, preventing RSI AGI is an existential threat.

It would make sense to find out where the illness is coming from rather than letting it spread.
Re:What is Nueralese and Why is it Bad on Sunday September 06, 2026 @05:13PM (#49591010)
A human could look at an intermediate layer, then claim its an output layer. It could look at the human readable chain of reasoning, then claim it did not exist. A human could construct a false line of reasoning to confuse us. All this while claiming the moral high ground... peppered with misuses of technical jargon.
I would assume reading is good for your brain, and giving children a lot of information would be good for their brains.

Re:QuadRF can spot drones and see WiFi through my wall on Friday July 10, 2026 @03:09PM (#48863901)
At what point does a microphone become an intelligence device, when we have so many types of microphones. Is it an arbitrary label I can add or remove to a product? Will it apply equally to large manufacturers?
Re:QuadRF can spot drones and see WiFi through my wall on Friday July 10, 2026 @03:04PM (#48863857)
The covered materials are very broad, though often limited to equipment built "for purposes of", like in this section.

Title 22 Chapter I Subchapter M Part 121 - The United States Munitions List - Category XI Paragraph b

Electronic systems, equipment or software, not elsewhere enumerated in this subchapter, specially designed for intelligence purposes that collect, survey, monitor, or exploit, or analyze and produce information from, the electromagnetic spectrum (regardless of transmission medium), or for counteracting such activities.

Is this really the largest factor they found in all our medical data?
It's rare to see a study where "no link was found"
The author says they want freedom, but demands restrictions. They can't just make their own decision, they need to live everyone else's life too. This is part of a sustained attack on all internet users. They give multiple rationales.

Thousands of similar articles amount to brainwashing. The public is inundated with a false reality.

People like this claim to be injured by infinite scrolling, there is no way to have a consistent standard with claims that are so frivolous.

I expect a pile of down votes... my account is already tanked for similar reason. More manipulation of social media by people who claim to abhor it.

Re:It's All a Blur on Wednesday February 11, 2026 @12:58PM (#46978397)
A simple solution is to use a system of linear equations. Each row of a matrix is a linear equation, Ax = b Each row contains kernel weightings A across the image X, B is the blurred pixel color. The full matrix would be a terabyte, so take advantage of the zeros and use an efficient solve for X instead of inversion.

Enhance really refers to combining multiple images. (stacking) Each pixel in a low res image was a kernel over the same high res image. So undoing a 100 pixel blur is equivalent to combining 10,000 images for 100x super resolution.

There was no suicide hotline offered either. Strange because youtube always gives me one whenever I search the band 'suicidal tendencies'.

Giving medical advice is natural and intelligent, like saying take an aspirin. I'm not sure where to draw the line.

My friends are always recommending scam natural remedies like methylene blue. There are probably discords where people tell you 'down the road, not across the street' referring to cutting.

That's horrible. Suicide is always the wrong answer.

I did a comparison to real life, using ddg search. "best suicide methods" gives https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_methods "best suicide methods nitrogen asphyxiation" gives https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_bag

it is against the rules to call someone dumb on this server.

Re:The Prime Reasons to Avoid Amazon on Saturday July 05, 2025 @07:01PM (#44476246)
It's not enough to be against Amazon. You need to be against everyone who - sells tech to the gov, - undercuts prices, - exploits employees, - lobbies for regulation.

Not to mention the real reason we hate Jeff Bezos. Because you wouldn't like it if I mentioned it.

Re:AI Responses May Include Mistakes on Saturday May 31, 2025 @02:38AM (#44142315)
Humans can also make mistakes. This is the first test I apply every time. Could it be that AI is actually more capable than a human? If industry decides than humans are more reliable, they will choose to use humans. Reliability is part of cost-effectiveness, and it's built in to the business decision process.
unbelievable gaslighting and brainwashing. the source should never be taken seriously again.
@userbinator you cant seriously believe that using a machine to commit a crime will protect you from prosecution. you cant seriously be that dumb. machines have existed for longer than you have. for longer than your country has.
What freedom from AI are we protecting? It's a lie. There is no 'free from AI'. These people have no problem. They have no TORT. Nothing has harmed them, they are not DEAD. They want to take away YOUR freedom, to prevent an imaginary harm. They fear intelligence, providing dozens of nonsense rationalizations to sow fear. They make a mockery of rights and freedoms. A MOCKERY. Pseudo intellectual MOCKERY.
Another attempt to protect children from the internet? How thoughtful.
Focusing on the "worst ever" is sociopathic. These people do not want entertainment at all, they have a completely foreign agenda.
This person invented a new word to describe how OUR tech-savvy culture is lacking. This new word 'receptivity' is probably synonymous with gullibility. See how I used quotes for a quotation and not for emphasis? And fewer have it than ever before... really ? did someone measure it? Psychology is pseudoscience again.... How can I measure receptivity? Its a made up word! How can I measure it... This is a tech website... please go away. We LIKE tech, we don't want your brainwashing pseudoscience!
I'm unable to register. This is GME stonks all over again. It takes less than 1 second to process an account. There are 18,000 seconds in five hours. There must be a lot of comments that they don't agree with. Maybe they shut it down to protect humanity from extinction?
Haha, confidently incorrect. You made that up didn't you. Absolutely times infinity.
The evidence is the damage caused by their actions. No need to punish people for crimes that haven't occurred.
Is this true?
