However, 30 years ago, developing a standard SunOS app with devGuide was the most enjoyable and productive programming I've ever experienced. Simply layout your GUI, link actions to methods, generate code, fill in the abstracted methods, compile and run. I didn't have to learn X or any other bloated low level graphics library.
AFAIK, nothing has been easier, especially XCode.
Patients with right frontal deficits, but not left frontal deficits, suffer a change of personality whereby they become incapable of empathy.Sure, you can make it smaller, but how many companies actually do this?
Sure, you can make it faster, but how many companies actually do this? Accountants and product managers don't care about speed or size -- that's a user problem.
Judging by the app sizes I download (and try to avoid), few companies really care about the user experience as long as the basic feature is checked off.
I worked at a company that provided an unnecessary and heavy FE framework (original devs didn't know what they were doing and "just got it out there"). Most of the target audience used used older PCs, and thus slower and memory limited. Some pages required multiple GB of browser memory. We've had this problem for decades because devs usually have well spec'd computers.

Generally, the best time to live in is the present, but there have been a lot of changes since Reagan that have made life harder and worse, e.g. the 24h news cycle exacerbated by a distinct lack of rational discourse.
The list of other factors is pretty long, but it pretty much comes down to how public and disproportionate the negativity and spin pervade society.

Very few people are affected by having a dump nearby or a nuclear power plant, whereas it seems like the power generators for these AI data centers really belong in an industrial park.
These data centers also don't employ many people, though I've read they are wonderful for city taxes, assuming they haven't gotten too many enticing tax breaks.

"Asia 2-4" is missing. It is chiefly concerned with the following question: how should interest charges on goods in transit be computed when the goods travel at close to the speed of light? This is a problem because the time taken in transit will appear less to an observer travelling with the goods than to a stationary observer.
It's actually an interesting question!I prefer the one where the national debt increases more under "fiscally responsible" republicans.
More correlation: more jobs are created and inflation is lower under democratic administrations.
GDP is also better with a Dem president, but it partially depends on the makeup of congress.

I agree that I wish Netflix had less lowbrow content, but they target a wide audience, and let's be honest, most people willing watch crap.
And seriously: go for a walk, read a book, play a game, or work on a hobby? TV shouldn't be your life, and it's long been one of the big societal problems.
Examples I would use without thinking for worthwhile-to-me content:
- "tip" options in the App Store
- 10/year
- 1/month
Similarly, I'm surprised these newsletter gatekeepers haven't implemented a tip jar where you put in $/year and it gets divided based on readership.I know this has been tried in other ways, but I think Substack and Medium could make this work.
It's only in the past few hundred years where focus actually matters: knowledge workers, and some factory work where lack of attention resulted in injury.
Personally, the new look is annoying at worst, but it doesn't affect my day to day at all.
The biggest Apple problem is the same as its been for a decade: languishing Apple app development.
I should try the smartwool underwear because there stuff is better than the competition, especially the small players.
I've switched to using Feedbin. I don't mind paying for it even though I could keep using Feedly for free, but the web UI ads annoyed me enough to look elsewhere.
The best Apple app is easily Unread, both for UI and UX. It still is t perfect for me, but the problems are minor and the author pleasant to interact with.

As the other commenter said, it may not be as "native" as you'd like.
I remember using the Hey app and being amazed at how well it worked (and this wasn't Hotwire Native at the time, I think) and I'm kind of sensitive to mobile apps not working as expected.
I don't know anything about React Native aside from my dislike for the complexity of React and how it perverts web operability, not to mention it is epically overkill for most use cases.
