>Good guess on my age.

I'm on a roll. Let me guess again. You support Hamas actions on Oct 7? You do not believe there should be a Jewish state of Israel?

If so do you also support the slaughter of Jews as the founding charter of Hamas called for?

Lol at all the 14 year olds that swallowed Iranian propaganda showing up here to prove the point

Somehow people like you always find a way to blame the Jews eyeroll - can't believe HN allows drivel like this
> “My minority opinion isn’t shared by the users on a subreddit… must be astroturfing…”

Or you know... maybe people just disagree with you

I find that discord has far better communities than Reddit ever did
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polytetrafluoroethylene

> Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene. It belongs to the per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)) and has numerous applications. The commonly known brand name of PTFE-based composition is Teflon by Chemours, a spin-off from DuPont, which originally discovered the compound in 1938.

What is it made out of? I feel like all the ones I've seen are made out of plastic.
The funny thing about most of these systems is that they are all made of plastic. For towns with bad water quality I understand it but for most towns with limited or no PFAS I feel like there is the risk that you could be making the water worse
To be fair, I've never met a human as knowledgeable as ChatGPT before but I've simultaneously never met a human as dumb as ChatGPT before.
Re:ICJ Orders Israel to Prevent Genocide Without Cease-Fire on Friday January 26, 2024 @09:35PM (#39151846)
That just plainly isn’t what a theocracy is though- by your definition the US could easily be called a theocracy for most of its history and even today. Beyond that you continue to ignore my other point - the people in Israel are less religious than the US/Canada and much of Europe. They are a less religious democracy than the US and yet you continue to call it what it just patently isn’t?
Re:ICJ Orders Israel to Prevent Genocide Without Cease-Fire on Friday January 26, 2024 @07:13PM (#39150756)
It is true… that is literally their governmental type. There are religious parties in Israel (just like the religious are largely in the GOP in the USA) but that doesn’t make it theocratic… unless you bend the definition of theocracy beyond all meaning.

That is all not to mention my second point which is that Israel isn’t even a particularly religious country compared to the west.

Re:ICJ Orders Israel to Prevent Genocide Without Cease-Fire on Friday January 26, 2024 @05:48PM (#39149876)
Huh? Israel is a parliamentary democracy not a theocracy. It is more irreligious than USA/Canada and plenty of Europe:

Calling for the destruction of the only Jewish state is hate speech… justify it all you want but that’s what it is. Looking at your account history you clearly have a problem with Jews… not just particular governmental policies of Israel
Re:ICJ Orders Israel to Prevent Genocide Without Cease-Fire on Friday January 26, 2024 @04:19PM (#39148553)
I guess you are just ignorant of the facts then. Israel only provides a portion as part of their humanitarian aid (but it isn't their responsibility to power Gaza.. just as no country is held responsible for anothers electricity?). I'd start with this wikipedia article:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaza_electricity_crisis

Re:ICJ Orders Israel to Prevent Genocide Without Cease-Fire on Friday January 26, 2024 @03:58PM (#39148230)
The people voted for Hamas = Hamas government. Just because some Israeli politicians were at one point supportive of Hamas is relevant how?
Re:ICJ Orders Israel to Prevent Genocide Without Cease-Fire on Friday January 26, 2024 @03:56PM (#39148200)
Goalpost moving aside, that statement is definitively untrue.

For one, Israel does not control the Gaza border with Egypt (which shocker... Egypt does). Israel has provided a ton of humanitarian aid to Gaza over the years including water and electricity but they do not control their water or electricity (kinda hard to do that or even claim that is being done since they don't have a presence in the country).

Israel hasn't had any presence in Gaza for nearly 20 years.

Have you never used the open source models? They are getting really good - better than 3.5 for sure not as good as 4 except when domain trained in my opinion
In my experience infuse only technically worked on about half my library, the other half caused crashes and the UI is definitively not streamlined for the media server use case (it feels like I should just be using VLC on iOS via DLNA or something at that point)
I’m not convinced they are correct about the feature being opt out rather than opt in - I just checked on my server and I am opted out and this is the first I’m hearing of this feature.

Also is there some astroturfing from 404media going on? This is the third link I’ve seen from them today on HN and I’ve never heard of them

Edit: According to the roll out post they will prompt you to opt in when you log in to Plex after the roll out but you do have to opt in, it’s possible I just missed the prompt and others opted in without reading? It may have been different for beta users as well

https://www.plex.tv/blog/discover-together/

In my opinion if your use case is watching your small collection of your own tv shows and movies on your computers use jellyfin, for anything else use Plex.

I love and have used both and while Jellyfin is great at that one thing if you need good mobile support or Roku/Apple TV support or similar it just fails miserably. If you want to have a music or audiobook collection it does even worse.

This seems to be the answer to why my initial query of apple was reported as fine but apple juice was reported as toxic

No they gave it to LMG to test, then asked for it back which is the source of the miscommunication

I assume they monetized everything after it though (yes obviously they did). You can turn off monetization on a video and still benefit from drama.

I guess this is what they are doing with all YouTube drama revenue they generated earlier this year?
Is this another “known to the state of California” that covers basically everything or is this actually a good thing?
Re:Lawmakers shift gears on TikTok ban on Monday October 09, 2023 @02:47PM (#37823786)
I don’t understand how people don’t think the government doesn’t have the authority to regulate international commerce. They literally do this all the time, banning trade or goods from one country or another. I don’t think any country in the world guarantees citizens access to the international market.

I think for some reason since this is more public facing people seem to think it is somehow different than bans on Russian firearms or engaging with literally any commerce with Iran.

I feel exactly the same way. I’d probably be happier wrt to work if I could be hybrid but being remote lets me live in a smaller town, in a place I love for everything else. I wouldn’t trade it for pretty much anything.
Migration is still much higher to the USA from Europe than the other way around so at least wrt the USA migration is actually helping the problem.
