Re:Google Bar: The next stage in Google redesign on Tuesday November 29, 2011 @09:22PM (#3293356)
I'm really quite sick of Google nowadays. I don't want any of this new stuff they have been introducing.

Re:Doom 3 source released on Tuesday November 22, 2011 @10:24PM (#3268615)
Are there any parts of the quake source code in here?
Pig and Hungry hungry hippo eh? Couldn't have put it better myself. So tired of seeing this crap foisted upon people who don't know any better. While I see the author's point about it being a bad thing for all users to be protected by the same antivirus software, I must say that MSE is the only antivirus software I've ever been comfortable using. I didn't use antivirus software for well over a decade, but MSE has such a small footprint and is so unobtrusive that it's now a question of 'Why not?'.

They have a lot of users to email, maybe it's coming? I still haven't anything either.

Re:JVM 5 is the new IE6 on Tuesday November 01, 2011 @05:37AM (#3181311)
You're right, I've never heard of backward compatibility that didn't work flawlessly. I know very little of Java, but if the backward compatibility isn't perfect then I could understand why companies would be hesitant to upgrade.
Re:JVM 5 is the new IE6 on Tuesday November 01, 2011 @04:18AM (#3181133)
It has full backward compatibility, but does it work?
Re:Google+ is now available with Google Apps on Thursday October 27, 2011 @03:53PM (#3165193)
Now if only they could get their multiple account sign-in feature polished. I use one Google account for Youtube, one for Google groups, and then my Apps account for email and plus. Why can't I set my preferred account for each service?

The day I went to Google.com and noticed I was signed in was the first sign of trouble. Why do I have to have my account used everywhere I go? I don't want you to log me in for searching when I check my email.

Re:Google+ is now available with Google Apps on Thursday October 27, 2011 @03:41PM (#3165134)
Can't sign in with Android app.
Re:Facebook To Build New Server Farm Near Arctic Circle on Thursday October 27, 2011 @05:25AM (#3162262)

Re:Mozilla Firefox and silent updates on Tuesday October 04, 2011 @08:47PM (#3073658)
Why would you do it any other way? Laziness?

And remember that 'bind' can save your life

this.io.sockets.on('connection', this.onConnection.bind(this));

VB.net isn't terrible. It enabled me to transfer all of my programming knowledge from VB6 into the .NET world, then move on to C# and ultimately other languages. Thank god for VB.net as far as I'm concerned.
Re:Google+ Opens to All on Tuesday September 20, 2011 @04:28PM (#3019439)
+1 for pissed off Google Apps users.
As a Google Apps user, I'm still pissed that I don't have access.
Re:Never got around to thanking that teacher? on Thursday September 15, 2011 @12:27AM (#2998908)
Same here. Considering how much effort seems to have been put in on the design, I'm kind of disgusted that a flaw like this would go all the way into production.

Re:Google Threw A Punch, Microsoft Fires Back With A Missile on Thursday August 04, 2011 @06:20AM (#2845322)
Mobile companies such as HTC, Motorla and Samsung are being forced to pay Microsoft licensing fees for their Android phones because of patents Microsoft owns. Google needs its own arsenal of patents in order to prevent the situation from getting worse. How is Android supposed to prosper if mobile companies are being forced to pay Microsoft to use it? Owning the patents jointly with Microsoft gives Google nothing to use against Microsoft, therefore defeating the whole purpose of owning the patents.

I gave it shot for a while because I needed the Turbo feature. I liked using Opera, it was fast and the new chrome-like GUI is nice. However... as soon as my internet was back at full capacity I changed back to Chrome. You say you like it because of the completeness, but I found that it was missing quite a few small things which I cannot live without. Off the top off my head I can only remember two things -

Tabs cannot be dragged in and out of windows

Text cannot be selected and dragged into the URL bar
