I second this. I wish more people spoke up against gross negligence abd incompetence like this.
No, you love to break it to people.
Vibecoding your own PDF engine is choosing none of them.
Maybe if we lower the quality a bit more it will finally work.

Yeah, I should have clarified that in this particular thread there was no reason to suspect the Trump fanboys being guilty of the downvoting.
I did not assume that. In this case Trump felt quite off-topic so I almost downvoted myself but I have seen many other threads where Trump supporters were plentiful, both in downvoting and posting comments.
Yeah, I have noticed that there are surprisingly many Trump supporters here given the international audience of the site.
Not only. They are also used when a CEO wants to do something and needs someone to produce evidence supporting what the CEO already wanted to do.
Re:Type-safe HTML templating in Zig on Monday October 12, 2026 @07:19AM (#50054716)
Yeah, I feel Andrew's tooth brushing argument is quite weak here. It is basically the same as the defence of C's error handling, which Zig fixed.

Cancellation in Rust is problematic too but for other reasons than cancellation in Zig is problematic. Maybe there is just no free lunch here, but hopefully it can be fixed in Zig and Rust.

Is there any proof that normies would not be on board with it? Discord is information dense and huge among normies.

Yes, this just confirms nämy view that Nix, as it is right now, is bad.

Which is never if the person you messaged did not have a bouncer or their bouncer crashed.

Very bad is pretty harsh for the possibly least bad chat app that I have used. I don't like the centralization on Discord but the reason it is popular is because their app is better than the competition.

Fibers? Yes, they are easy to protect. The hard part is power generation.
Re:3rd Yandex Cloud Data Center Was Hit on Sunday October 11, 2026 @06:11AM (#50041541)
The war in Ukraine had showed us that distributed power generation, like solar, and nuclear are most resilient. Nuclear because people do not dare striking the power plants.

Huh? The ones I know of have plenty of connectivity. The real issue is your first, that people prefer to just put their stuff in two countries over paying premium for having their servers under ground.

Pionen is small but it is quite a bit bigger than "a couple of dozen racks". More like 100-200 if I recall correctly.

You mean exactly like Iran did?
Why didn't _you_ respond directly to the negative comment?

Re:Nobel Peace Prize for 2026 to Navanethem "NAVI" Pillay on Friday October 09, 2026 @07:54AM (#50019217)
Yes, but what has that to do with this year's winner?
Re:OpenAI Withdraws 3 Math Papers on Thursday October 08, 2026 @10:38AM (#50006345)
I hope we discover a solution before innovation totally stalls, but I do not think any solution has been found yet. And I agree that halting AI is unlikely to be the solution because even if we halt the big companies China for example can still do AI.

Some people hope AI will get good enough in a few years that it can innovate without human experts. Maybe? But that remains to be seen.

But name of chip would be a decent way for people to get a rough idea for if the manufacturer have change it so to me that seems like a useful piece of data.
Re:Gleam doesn't compile to Erlang source anymore on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @10:57AM (#49979469)
It is if you want Erlang but typesafe and with a modern syntax. And why would you want Erlang? Erlang was built for making it easy to build fault-tolerant concurrent applications, for example in telecom.

If they change components the properties in this test would also change so not sure I get your point other than that any test is useless since manufacturers change stuff without telling the buyers pr changing model numbers.

If they replace the senor then all properties which depend on the senor may change.
