You’re a flaw.
Re:Most of Europe is glowing pink under the aurora on Friday May 10, 2024 @09:02PM (#40325213)
I can see brown I can see blue I can see violet sky…
The title is editorialized but why on earth was this even drafted? It's completely absurd.
Re:Earthsea – A Rival to Tolkien and George RR Martin (2015) on Wednesday January 24, 2018 @05:52AM (#16221793)
Even though I knew it was the author I read this article in the comedians voice :)
Re:How to get your first 100k active users on Wednesday December 13, 2017 @04:31AM (#15913127)
Looks interesting but I don't have a Facebook account :/
Re:Ask HN: Have you gone vegan or vegetarian? on Wednesday March 29, 2017 @11:13AM (#13987032)
I am slowly getting there. After watching the film cowspiracy my wife and I decided to slowly transition, mainly environmental reasons but also because of the way animals are treated. We eat meat maybe once/twice a week coming down from twice daily, and when we do eat meat we try and source the best from small farmers. Transitioning away from meat has been relatively easy, where I personally fall short is dairy. There just isn't a good substitute for cheese and I find the smell and taste of soya milk awful. Hopefully new products will come along...
Re:Show HN: Writing Streak – write fiction every day on Sunday May 01, 2016 @05:08PM (#11607871)
Nice. Now if only we could get GRRM or Patrick Rothfuss to use this tool.
Re:Programming languages and Frameworks to learn in 2015 on Saturday December 27, 2014 @02:54PM (#8803705)
+1 to Elixir and Phoenix from my side. I have yet to dabble with Phoenix but the short amount of time I've spent with Elixir has been thoroughly enjoyable. I can't wait to rewrite chunks of code at work into small phoenix applications.

Welcome to the party!
Re:Why Real Estate Tech Is So Attractive For Founders on Monday January 20, 2014 @03:11AM (#7088155)
Hi @FollowSteph. You mention that it takes at least 2-3 years to get a good product going. Curiously, how many developers did you have for those initial 3 years?
Re:Amazon Promises Package Delivery By Drone: Is It for Real? on Monday December 02, 2013 @02:16PM (#6835781)
My dog is gonna bite the crap out of that drone when it lands in my yard.
Re:Show HN: UI Concept – Focus Transition on Friday September 20, 2013 @05:26AM (#6416755)
This is a great idea and executed well but forms should not be complicated. They should be easy to follow. If you need this library to ease users along then perhaps you need to take a look at your forms workflow rather...
That's the first thing I thought. Oh the irony.
Re:Rethinking Backbone.js View Rendering on Friday March 08, 2013 @04:43PM (#5345912)
Why can't people just use regular HTML for markup? Coffeescript is beautiful when you are composing short succinct functions but this just looks like more work for my brain.
Re:New Bootstrap switches on Saturday January 26, 2013 @09:18AM (#5120378)
Maybe it's just me, but switches confuse the hell out of me. Am I switching to turn it off or is it already off? I like the look and feel of this but to me 2 radio buttons is a far more elegant solution...

Re:An Amaz-ing Resume on Thursday January 24, 2013 @07:38AM (#5109185)
You mean the process where I'm logged in, add some items to my cart and when I click checkout get asked to login again, get to the 3rd screen and I'm told they don't ship to my country? Yeah, painless.
Re:An Amaz-ing Resume on Thursday January 24, 2013 @07:00AM (#5109082)
Where is the painful Amazon checkout process?
I couldn't care what language industries use. As long as they expose a better API than transferring damn text files and I don't have to wait 15 minutes for a response, I'm happy.

Scumbag Zee. Steals your content, uploads a non-apology to Google Docs.
Re:RESTful thinking considered harmful on Friday March 30, 2012 @06:08PM (#3778363)
Placing verbs in your Resftul apis resources is wrong, but it just feels so right....
Re:A Case Against Using CoffeeScript on Wednesday December 14, 2011 @09:09AM (#3351833)
I don't understand what the big deal is. If you don't want to use coffeescript then don't use coffeescript.
