Don't worry Europeans: you aren't missing out.
Re:Mike Tomlin spent 12 years building a Minecraft city on Friday October 02, 2026 @03:44PM (#49937715)
A pretty funny analysis I saw:

Before Minecraft city (2007–2013): 5–3 in the playoffs — 62.5% win rate

After starting the city (2014–2025): 3–9 in the playoffs — 25.0% win rate

This is some worst case scenario behavior for an agent. Whatever Meta has learned, they don’t apply. https://www.theverge.com/ai-artificial-intelligence/1001886/...

Claw is a cute name?
I've also had issues with severely out of date product results.
Re:Fastpotify on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @09:39AM (#49521889)
This is cool. A few small thoughts:

- would love to be able to disable podcasts / anything non music related. it's my #1 gripe with the official Spotify client today.

- Winamp buttons shouldn't remain "pressed" in that play state

- Winamp doesn't like being stuck to one edge of the screen, after putting there and interacting it will often jump inward a bit

- Winamp could use the EQ in collapsed mode

- Would be nice for Winamp to remember its position (i think it grabs the NW corner of the large player every time?

Re:Tim Cook Sold Out Steve Jobs on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @09:24AM (#49521690)
Agreed. Same thing on desktop: Apple is pulling Windows-style stuff like putting ads in the OS and forcibly bundling software (just try deleting News.app on MacOS) only because Windows has meanwhile reached even lower lows.
Is the GitHub project the same as the videos? Seems like no.
Gruber has a ridiculous knee-jerk response to anything the EU does, so hardly a surprise he didn't come to the table with a sober facts-based response.
The design is on point and the numbers look great. I want one.
Re:Cloudflare Drop on Wednesday July 08, 2026 @09:19PM (#48839722)
What is this for?
Re:We made Grok 4.5, GPT-5.5, and Claude build the same apps on Wednesday July 08, 2026 @09:14PM (#48839687)
So strange to write a whole post with Claude giving the best results and Grok consistently the worst, but awarding Grok the winner because at least it did the worst fastest?
Re:Banned Book Library in a Wi-Fi Smart Light Bulb on Monday June 15, 2026 @09:57PM (#48549606)
It won't surprise most people here that this guy's past comments have a real weird focus on race!
Still a better outcome than tossing your ethics overboard.
I was very vehement about needing to stay in Chromium — until I tried Zen browser and it turns out I didn’t! (Unless I wanted to watch Prime Video)
Re:SpaceX says it has agreement to acquire Cursor for $60B on Tuesday April 21, 2026 @08:15PM (#47856785)
A crazy and lucky bailout for Cursor + investors.
Re:SpaceX says it has agreement to acquire Cursor for $60B on Tuesday April 21, 2026 @08:14PM (#47856769)
60b?

Yes?

edit: Just tested it with that exact prompt on Claude. It asked me who I was traveling with, what type of trip and budget (with multiple choice buttons) and gave me a detailed itinerary with links to buy the flights ( https://www.kayak.com/flights/ORD-LIS/2026-06-13/OPO-ORD/202... )

As the article says, Back was very interested in methods of covering one's tracks.
Yeah, that would be a real scummy thing to do!
Re:Sony V. Cox Decision Reversed on Wednesday March 25, 2026 @09:25PM (#47525651)
They’re talking about the judges on the Sony/Betamax case, not the new one.
Complete waste for anything math related for me. Did act as a proper gateway into coding though!
Re:The Largest Zip Tie Is Nearly 4 Feet Long and $75 on Tuesday February 03, 2026 @10:56PM (#46881271)
It doesn't say longest either.
Re:A Crisis comes to Wordle: Reusing old words on Sunday February 01, 2026 @06:05PM (#46850303)
Isn't the point of homophones that they sound like the equivalent word, thus gory, grim, grisly, scary?

How many memecoins can get pumped and dumped?
Re:Notes on Apple's Nano Texture (2025) on Monday January 19, 2026 @03:57PM (#46684395)
It looks great but I can't imagine I'll be up to the cleaning protocol.

For outdoor use, I've had some decent success with the app Vivid which hijacks various MacOS abilities to superbrighten your display: https://www.getvivid.app/

Great work! I’d love to see a proper BTS or case study.
Re:Finance Industry Eyes Investment Opportunities in Venezuela on Saturday January 03, 2026 @08:48PM (#46483945)
Shameful.
Re:Figure 03, our 3rd generation humanoid robot on Thursday October 09, 2025 @08:15PM (#45534332)
Better than or more cheaply.
Love it though the way cut sheets of rolled paper will curl is pretty annoying.
