Re:How to speed up the Rust compiler in September 2026 on Friday October 02, 2026 @02:52AM (#49930549)
This is why I like Zig and Go. :)
Re:Markdown in /src on Wednesday September 23, 2026 @01:46AM (#49812108)
Agree with markdown being important. I still see it as intent, processing it results in a new commit not part, hence I would not put it in src.

My conclusion is, that i want neat markdown. Hence it needs to be linted/formatted.

Developed a linter/formatter https://mdsmith.dev to specifically do that. Includes tooling for progressive disclosure, etc.

Re:Google's Open Agentic Orchestrator on Monday September 21, 2026 @04:49AM (#49784772)
How would you compare PizzaBot to Herdr?
seems like brave isnt allowed. I would suggest to test for capabilities instead of blocking browsers by name/platform.
Re:Zig's Io.Threaded Is Neat on Saturday August 22, 2026 @04:09AM (#49397676)
So far claude has been fine to generated zig code. Dont have lots of issues. Tijy local models have more problems with zig, need additional instructions.

In general, what helps is to instruct ai to use test coverage to ensure the cover all edge cases with tests.

Re:Don't Paste the AI, please on Thursday August 20, 2026 @10:05AM (#49374745)
Sure. For small changes it would work. However, for larger documents the effort increases a lot. LLM speeds things like "making use of terminolgy" in the document consitent. Restructuring, combine parapgraphs etc. a lot faster.

In the old days it would take me weeks to get a good document out of door. Now a it is days. While the absolute number of iterations polishing is higher.

Re:Don't Paste the AI, please on Thursday August 20, 2026 @06:08AM (#49372582)
For me, being quite "dyslectic" - LLM generated sentences have the advantage of being spelled correctly and being grammartically correct. I rather prefer iterating over LLM text than writing it by myself. Example: Typing this simple text above by myself was not straight forward.
Re:I used Claude Code to get a second opinion on my MRI on Sunday June 28, 2026 @02:15PM (#48709914)
The question is how far is AI off compared to the professional that we have access to. World best experts are not accessible to most of us. :(
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (June 2026) on Monday June 15, 2026 @08:01AM (#48540055)
Working on a markdown linter and formatter https://mdsmith.dev in go lang. Checks style, readability, structure, and cross-file integrity.
Re:GitHub Authentication issues related to API requests on Wednesday June 10, 2026 @12:12PM (#48478518)
Still having issues codeql actions error out with auth issues. :(
I always have a backup, when i travel even a 2 hour drive away from home.

I take a spare sensor, spare pump (Omnipod), spare insulin, and an insulin + dextro.

On vacation, I take a spare phone, in case my phone that manages pomp and sensor breaks down.

It happened already twice on vacation in the past 5 years.

Re:Wrap Go binaries in Python wheels on Friday May 15, 2026 @04:27AM (#48145983)
You would need to have go installed. For my golang opensource project, also added releases on pypi and also npm.
Does this 60min ttl of also apply to claude code web?

I have regularly sessions open for multiple days.

Is that a pattern that is not advised?

Even co-pilot writes most of my code in april 2026.

Further, i don't trust code anymore that hasn't been reviewed 3x or more by co-pilot.

If you have asked me 6 months ago I wouldn't have expected this change so soon.

Re:Why the heck are we still using Markdown? on Saturday April 04, 2026 @03:43AM (#47636829)
Writing mark down linter, i am i nterested in - if you think that you requirements for markdown formatting could be encoded in (relatively) simple rules?
Re:Cook: A simple CLI for orchestrating Claude Code on Thursday March 19, 2026 @01:24AM (#47435294)
Had a quick look. Stumbled upon the markdown format smd.

Was wondering if using front-matter instead of a "custom" encoding for parseble data was considered?

Re:Switch to Claude without starting over on Sunday March 01, 2026 @04:48AM (#47205237)
Interesting - what kind of structural issues have you encountered?

Is these more related to the existing source code or is this a bad pattern thar you would never do regardless of the existing code?

Re:Nano Banana 2: Google's latest AI image generation model on Friday February 27, 2026 @07:59AM (#47180010)
In Chess this has been going on for a while. Story of humans playing Chess is still entertaining - while AI making amazing moves seems to be less news worthy in my perception.
There are frameworks like https://github.com/bmad-code-org/BMAD-METHOD and https://github.github.com/spec-kit/ that are working on encoding a similar kind of approach and process.
Re:We Put Claude Code in Rollercoaster Tycoon on Sunday January 18, 2026 @02:26AM (#46665567)
Claudes search tool uses Ripgrep , which is embedded in Claude.
Re:Google: Don't make "bite-sized" content for LLMs on Sunday January 11, 2026 @12:16PM (#46577549)
Which searchengine is OpenAI using?
you can switch the ports pretty quickly on framework laptops.
Re:Scaling LLMs to Larger Codebases on Tuesday December 23, 2025 @03:27PM (#46369123)
If claude ignores your claude.md you can force it to read via settings to cat it every session start for example.
I think I was looking for both error / exception handling within the language and across the C api.
Nice language! I am wondering how error handling / exceptions works in bolt?

Quickly scanned the programming guide - but wasn't able to find it. Did i miss a section?

Steam added recently a rule 15th what you should not publish:

15. Content that may violate the rules and standards set forth by Steam’s payment processors and related card networks and banks, or internet network providers. In particular, certain kinds of adult only content.

Have you tried to add more guidelines ? Similar to documentation you would provide to new members of the team
Re:Apptainer: Application Containers for Linux on Thursday June 26, 2025 @05:29PM (#44391642)
How do you guys use Lua modules?
However, I believe it is quite an assumption that a setup with time pressure reflects "normal" usage of a LLM.
