Re:Jmail: Gmail except it's Epstein Files on Sunday December 21, 2025 @05:45PM (#46349377)
The thing I got from reading the majority of these emails is Epstein / trump connection was not that strong later years. I feel JE humored trump to a degree and disliked him to an even larger degree. He may have initially had strong relations in the beginning but he was NOT pleased he was winning the presidency at all. He mentioned multiple times references to dirt on DT and even at one point there was the question did Trump set him up. Not to say JE did no wrong, cause the evidence is 100% there for that but it's super interesting having read the actual files to see the various media spins on all sides. If anything though it's led me to believe there are much stronger ties to Russia with DT than I thought before. (Palm Beach House, the casino, models coming from those areas etc).

I read through 80% of them last night by myself. I mean, I didn't go to bed until 3am but spread across a handful of agents? yeah you could do it in an hour.
This is what they actually use: https://github.com/flavorjones/loofah
Got a chuckle out of me. lol
I am going to give this a shot, but using a method I have been using lately with subagents. Basically, what I do is have it create an Architect, Executor, Adjudicator subagents. Architect breaks any ask down into atomic and testable subtasks that take 1-3 minutes 'dev' time. Executor (can spawn more than one) implements them. Then adjudicator reviews that they are to spec / requirements. This all happens in subagent files + a runbook.json in the .claude folder of a project. Its based on a paper* that was featured on here a while back actually [1].

That's a good question. It was more an example. I am definitely interested in what model people have chosen. A concrete example is I have a cross platform personal finance app. (win, lin, mac). Its not cloud based or anything. So, I am at the point where I want to think about how to license I guess which is what inspired my question.

Ask HN: What licensing software are you choosing for your projects?

Just looking for productive discussion as to what should drive design decisions / choices. I have some projects I would eventually like to make available for sale..and I really would like to host my own licensing software so that I keep everything in house except the payment portion. (I deal with PCI compliance enough with my day job)So, lets say you want to sell your programming project /...

What about the server portion? that's the thing I would like to have forked / open source.

So much copilot integration just for the sake of it.

Hi HN!I've been trying to replace apps I use recently with my own version + export and import with data being completely local the device / browser (lost on cache clear!).This is one of them. Its used for tracking things you want to quit in a somewhat gamified way. You can unlock badges for staying quit longer but also handles adding lapses or 'occurrences'. Hope you like it. You dont even have...

Re:Signal's New PQ Ratchet on Thursday October 02, 2025 @01:55PM (#45453077)
Maybe my reading comprehension is failing me, but what does this mean for existing messages? I guess nothing of the have already been 'siphoned' to a 3rd party. As it couldn't retroactively apply to data not under Signals control of course..but what about existing messages already within their control?
This is why multi-pass sessions is something I try sometimes. "What's wrong with the solution your provided, how should it be done instead, and if you use any specific APIs or third party libraries research them to ensure complete accuracy of syntax, usage, and logic simplicity. Refactor your original solution to the correct minimum based on the ask."

Usually after running whatever it first spits out through this I get a bit better of a response or base I can build off of. Really, the best you can do is already know what you want and need and do very targeted sessions. Like the old saying goes, commit small and often.

What happens is the status quo changes. Like what happened with Dev/Ops. If you find yourself with the time to lead agents on a beach retreat you might find yourself pulled into more product design / management meetings instead. AI/Dev like DevOps. Wearing more hats as a result. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Also some fair dining. Local Goat, The Trout House, the apple orchards for sweets. it makes for a nice weekend / week getaway. clingmans dome (Now called Kuwohi Observation Tower) is a not so strenuous hike with 360 degree views. Highly recommend the drive up to it in the fall when the trees are golden and the sun is shining.
You don't need AI for that. I get the optimistic spirit of what you mean though.
Not if they're inline and you've read an ad before you realized it. Like a YouTube sponsor segment. lol

This was a delightful read. There's something magical about people coming together to make something happen and experience it together...

Maybe it was Soames, or maybe it was Soames spirit who convinced the actor specifically to do this in the first place. we may never know. All in good fun.

Re:Apple restricts Pebble from being awesome with iPhones on Tuesday March 18, 2025 @09:01PM (#43407209)
He is specifically talking about accessories, in this case the watches. including apple watches and 3rd party. if apple watches integrate natively, but 3rd party watches don't have the same level of integration then there is no way in the apple ecosystem to make a comparative decision on which watch you want to use as you're automatically funneled into apple watches by design. Now on android, most watches integrate pretty much the same. maybe a different on phone app, but, most APIs are pretty accessible between all devices. (I might be wrong about this)
Something I didn't dig to find, but is it possible for these applications to also respect .gitignores? Might be a handy flag!
For now. Being closed source who's to say what future versions do. i know this is always going to be a song and dance between corps, govs, and consumers.
Only if enough are discriminated against that it affects the bottom line.

I agree with you on this, but also understand the OPs reasoning for searching out a better solution. it takes both homesteaders and pioneers.
Re:Procrastination and the fear of not being good enough on Sunday November 10, 2024 @10:24PM (#42104373)
I feel like this also applies to software development. I have a friend, who is a perfectionist. they're really smart! a lot smarter than me actually. with that being said total output and progress towards a goal we both share is higher on my end because I'm as they put it "more industrious". I don't say this as a brag, but more people have different struggles to get started and different motivations. I'm not motivated by the big picture, I'm motivated by the challenge in front of me. others might be motivated by the big picture and not the smaller challenges. either way, I think recognizing that fact, and your motivation, alone is a step in the right direction.
