Does that mean you're doing work week by week that is well-scoped and planned for that week and you can't pick up the work for next week until that week happens? It just seems like mostly programmers work on things that extend out for a long time and you can kind of just throw more at the problem and pull it forward earlier
One of the main reasons I don't use the app is that it makes it harder to bookmark.

The depreciation of a dam versus batteries can can weigh the benefits towards dams.
Their customer service is surprisingly hostile. I still use them tho since I'm using them for low stakes stuff

If you hammer their free tier with lots of nonsense queries that also probably doesn't help them. Definitely don't pay them

With that said, for the free tier I tend to use grok - another provider I will never pay

Anthropic does get money from me for now

I'm not involved in the initiative so I can't answer the question definitively? I provided one of the major reasons that projects get switched from C. I think it's likely to be a major part of the motivation.

As a user, you may not be aware that C makes it relatively easy to create https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffer_overflow which are a major source of security vulnerabilities.

This is one of the best reasons to rewrite software in Rust or any other more safe by default language.

C is unsafe.
Re:Anaconda Raises $150M Series C on Thursday July 31, 2025 @11:04PM (#44752639)
362 downloads over 20 hours isn't that impressive. Not saying Anaconda isn't great. Don't have much experience with it but I hope the devs get paid for all the value delivered, which I think is largem
Re:Ask HN: Where do you guys find audiobooks? on Saturday July 26, 2025 @09:08PM (#44698108)

The point is that we know the weathering process will shed microplastics.

I use monkeybrains with the same ipv6 problem. One workaround is to run a VPN. Planning to switch but haven't gotten around to it
Re:Announcement: S3 Default Integrity Change on Monday January 20, 2025 @12:01PM (#42770621)
The issue is also discussed in the linked issue.

Maybe this will trigger a rethink in how s3 compatible storage systems work.

Technically it appears red dye no 3 was banned due to cancer and Delaney clause, however, keep in mind that I think the primary reason it was banned in California last year was all the studies correlating it to deleterious cognitive impacts on children

Probably. Mentioned a couple manufacturers working on greener tires: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42273418
Michelin is at least looking into it: https://www.michelin.com/en/media/magazine/michelin-is-takin...

Nokia is also working on green tires with more biodegradation

Interesting summary - what's your take on opensuse? Seems like solid system but hasn't seemed to grow the way I'd expect

Where did you see this documentation?
I don't think so. This is just for Aptiv's investment. Looks like Aptiv (APTV) will remain separate.
This convinced me that it's maybe worth trying. Given the number of tools out there and how easy git feels for me right now (pretty easy), that's a highish bar
It's also affected by the fundamental barriers to entry in offering a competing product - homes don't get built quickly and people can't move that easily.

They recently sold Google Domains to Squarespace which is messy given how it was integrated with Cloud Domains https://cloud.google.com/domains/docs/faq
