I use Brave to watch YouTube. I was pleasantly surprised that they had so many YouTube related features, blocking shorts is one of them.
> a simple English prompt
And that’s where my suspicion stems from.
An equivalent original human piece of work from an expert level programmer wouldn’t be able to do this without all the context. By that I mean all the all the shared insights, discussion and design that happened when making the compiler.
So to do this without any of that context is likely just very elaborate copy pasta.
It’s cool but there’s a good chance it’s just copying someone else’s homework albeit in an elaborate round about way.
I think you’re overstating the effect. The most volume is sold at supermarkets which have the best location for throughout but they also have the cheapest prices.
There’s only so much investable capital available, if it is going to hardware stocks it’s got to be coming from somewhere else. It’s just a substitution toward hardware tech stocks. Economics 101.
> do generalists outperform specialists?
Depends what we mean by specialist. If it frontend vs backend then maybe. If it general dev vs some specialist scientific programmer or other field where a generalist won’t have a clue then this seems like a recipe for disaster (literal disasters included).
What chilling effect? Have you seen what people post on facebook under their own name.
Yeah it might be just be a verified token to say I’m citizen of the country. Doesn’t have to be my actual id. The OSA is a crappy implementation.
That’s just the way “freedom news” is framing it.
Social movements don’t just happen from grassroots these days. They’re seeded by foreign states. A simpler solution would be require ids for social media posting. If you don’t provide an id you get a limited number of views.
And I don’t see anything wrong with a preventative system in principle, we should be able to join up social services information with policing, because we have had cases where a mass murderer has been known to multiple services.
Edit: probably not ids but a token that verifies my nationality would be enough.
I think ‘git rebase —-update-refs’ is the better way to go for this scenario
The article suggests there’s evidence that screen time has the opposite effect. A little surprising but I guess for a lot of people it is more stimulating than watching the news or soaps all day

In the U.K. I was betting 5 minute binary options back in 2008 and parlays or accumulators as we call them (accys for short) have been popular for a while too.
In my experience there’s still much more to this. I’m sure it helps at population level like the article describes but it’s not foolproof. For our first we were feeding nuts early and still developed an allergy to all nuts. Our second didn’t get nuts until much later and he’s fine. There’s more to the story than timing, notably my first has eczema and asthma too so there’s that atopic march.
I’m glad I opted to get the base model M4 Mac Mini rather than upgrade the memory for longevity.
Sadly, the majority of the people want these policies because they’ve been brainwashed or they’re too apathetic to care. The major political parties want it too. Democracy is flawed.
That looks great, a nice upgrade over the 500 but I’d buy it just for the echoes of Amiga 500 plus.
I couldn’t agree more. I think we should just write our pipelines in languages our teams are familiar with and prioritise being able to run them locally.
People don’t have a nuanced view of when to use sunscreen. You can see for yourself in the comments, there’s plenty of loud certainty and context is left behind. And I’d have expected this group to at least understand that the need for sunscreen is based on the position of the sun during the day.
Probably mitigated by the fact that the most popular SUVs in the UK are effectively just tall hatchbacks. People think Range Rovers but the bestsellers are like Kia Sportage and Ford Puma.
Big caveat that I’ve not read the book but I get that the premise is “legacy code is code that is untested” and I’ve always struggled with that definition. I think a more accepted definition would be that it is not well understood, uses old tooling/languages/runtimes and is usually high stakes code (driving some business that was successful enough to last longer than the staff that coded it up). I’m sure added tests help deal with legacy code under that definition but not sure it’s the panacea, I’ve certainly seen code without tests lots very high coverage that people area afraid to work on due to them being unfamiliar with the domain and codebase.
Small but organised communities that are on Twitch and YouTube live streams seem to counter that “series of one-offs” the author is talking about.
I often watch YouTube live streamed sports watchalongs and have become familiar with the regular super chat contributors that are read out. Similarly on Twitch there are many regular streamers with small communities and regular chatters.

The image with the cross section looks convincing. I don’t really know what I’m looking at.
That’s fair but I use iOS features for it and they do have more simplified set ups like blocking mature content that they define. I wonder how many people take the time to set up screen time for their kids? That is as easy on the level of signing up for a website or managing your online orders.
All the main parties are behind it, some say it doesn’t go far enough.
The vast majority of the British public absolutely love to ban things. If you listen to talk radio or daytime tv most of the time they’ll be having a discussion on banning something. We have a nanny state and the public like it that way.
Personally I use an allow list for my kids internet access and don’t rely on the state to parent them. I guess that’s too much bother for most people.
I’m not sure it has to keep the id on the device, it keeps the signed digital credentials not the original id document. The government would sign the “facts” like isAdult etc and they currently issue and sign all current ids anyway.
I was putting together some technical interview questions for our candidates and I wanted to see what ChatGPT would put for an answer. It told me floating point numbers were non-deterministic and wouldn’t back down from that answer so it’s getting it from somewhere.
Maybe do a portfolio of S&P 500 ex mag 7, market cap and equal weight and see if you can get the aggregate weights to match (within reason) sqrt weights.
