Re:Why Bullshit Jobs Are (Finally) Dying [video] on Friday September 11, 2026 @11:03AM (#49659681)
The point Graeber makes is that bullshit jobs are a thin excuse to continue to give people money where otherwise there may not actually be productive labor to be done. Nothing works if people don't have money, things get pretty fucked up if those at the top have it all, so we sort of slid into this situation of people having pointless jobs just to receive some distribution. This keeps things roughly the same and no one really questions what's going on a lot.

This guy seems to hear "bullshit jobs" and simply think "people who I don't think are useful". Graeber's is a critique of the economic order, this guy seems to be beholden to it.

Does it? Now that I see their name again in this context they're blacklisted for life.

I _think_ I align with your beliefs, but the style of writing, color scheme, etc., all scream 2010s Anonymous, and it's very hard to get past that aesthetic to determine if there is any there there.

Are you a plural person? Or is this a team? What's with the plural pronouns? Again, I do wish there were less style here.

It’s very funny that you commented here. Thanks for showing your face, it is amusing.

I am, thanks. But also Discourse is so terrible that it should be excluded too.

I could spend time looking for a Facebook ad showing this behavior but instead I’m going to scream at you to stop being so dense and do it yourself.

To not know of any is sort of weird. To believe a for-profit enterprise should replace the last is unspeakably dumb.
Who is the CEO, again? What fall did they take? Must’ve been big to avoid naming them.
It’s not, though

Google is irresponsible (current, not past tense, is and was always).

Everything after that is fair game.

Amphetamines are great, I fail to see your point.

What shelf? A garage? Detached? A shed? How humid? You may want to resurface and oil that saw after a decade. The wood handle may have rotted, or the plastic one may be gummy. Taking care of tools is how they last.
Re:Python 2 Removed from Debian on Tuesday January 03, 2023 @07:20PM (#34240083)
The point is just you don’t understand how your tools work.

Thank god the sort of people who mindlessly seek “cool” stuff to work on in the absence of any kind of ethics seldom have the intelligence, skill, or charm to realize any of their dreams.
Driving has some utility.
Why would this matter in the US?
Run-on sentences, use of "woke"… I think this entire person can be ignored.

Uh, it’s not. I suppose people can produce a given play however they wish but I don’t think three hours is typical…
Who cares? The implicit idea behind employment is that the employer always pays less than they think you are worth.

There is no shame or immorality in occasionally bringing down output enough that you sometimes find where that crossover point is. Or, surprisingly, perhaps you find there _is_ no crossover point?

At any rate, stick with it while you can stay sane, then jump ship to something new and exciting. Done.

Re:John Carmack on JPEG on Saturday June 05, 2021 @03:05AM (#27402881)
(a) Unless I'm mistaken, there are three tweets. Three.

(b) Can you use curl? Maybe hit the API.

(c) The modern web DOES require JavaScript. Sure, I'm not clear on what that has to do with reading three tweets available on a public API, but it's pretty weird to object to a declarative statement of truth.
