Why is criticism of the only Jewish state antisemitism but then whites can’t even think of having their own state?
I love when people come here with quotes from books like this is the ultimate argument or something.

Is this a reliable metric? One would think there would be lots of jitter. But if you combine with something else like IP address it may be useful.

Sorry? Why? I must’ve missed that memo :)

They don’t support windows, they don’t support regular screens on Linux… are they a Mac shop basically?
For most queries the AI summary works. If it doesn’t, oh well.

Yesterday I looked up how much a certain car weighs. The AI summary gave me an answer. It may be the wrong one, but I looked it up out of curiosity, so it doesn’t ultimately matter.

The best thing Google has done in the last decade easily.

Completely agree with the last paragraph.

Pathetic that in 2025 there still are games that rely on p2p connections, to the detriment of the experience because cheating can’t be detected server-side. GTA 5 is one of them.

Cloudflare easily detects that using your discrete external port range and knows better than to show you a CAPTCHA.

They would be, but thankfully CGNAT doesn’t cause that.

Re:Locally hosting an internet-connected server on Wednesday June 18, 2025 @05:17AM (#44308120)
CGNAT is completely irrelevant to the average person. It’s only an issue if you expect others to connect to you, which is something that almost all people don’t need.

(inb4 but the internet was made to receive connections! Well yes, decades ago maybe. But that’s not the way things have evolved. Get with the times.)

It’s incredible that here of all places you will have someone justify a person who’s completely unqualified running something as important as a country’s electrical network.

I wonder if they’d say the same if this had happened in, say, Hungary.

Re:WhatsApp Introduces Ads in Its App on Tuesday June 17, 2025 @02:55AM (#44296355)
Really WhatsApp is not a national security threat? Ukraine is basically a vassal state of the US at this point, I would think it would be best to depend less of them.

It’s tricorder not tricoder.
Thankfully, this project got evidence. Unfortunately, it was shelved.
Those quiet hours sound like heaven. Signed: person living in Spain.
Is this a serious comment? It hits all the bases.
Okay: multitasking in windows phone was rubbish. You would see a loading screen all the time when switching between apps that lasted seconds. Of course that was still better than the pile of garbage that Android was/is, so it was your only option if you, like me, weren’t able to afford an iPhone. But that’s doesn’t mean I’m going to pretend I miss it.
Windows Phone was good if you liked staring at "Resuming..." screens all day.
People in websites like HN are very biased towards the EU. They will tell you that you only need cookie banners if you are doing something sleazy. But that’s not true as you can see. It’s simply a bad law.
That’s why your computer allows you to set two DNS servers.
The European Commission is always very concerned about what right-wing European governments do. When will they have something to say about everything happening in Spain for instance?
I’m pretty sure they prefer “Kyiv”, though.
Re:AOSP project is coming to an end on Thursday June 12, 2025 @04:53AM (#44255449)
Laptops have always been able to virtualise, the same they can download stuff off the internet without going through the App Store. Changing that wouldn’t fly.
Re:Denuvo Analysis on Wednesday June 11, 2025 @12:15PM (#44249129)
Very interesting, I would’ve automatically assumed “she” is a tra nny.
That is not what I said and that is not what is necessary.

First of all web developers should use google and learn what a cache is. That way you don’t need compute at all.

Okay, but what are the changes that made porting more difficult?
Write proper websites that do not choke that easily.
“Good and just” are subjective.
