A very big problem.
Re:Ask HN: What has been your favorite VPN provider? on Saturday October 31, 2026 @04:15PM (#50319693)
Looks like a reseller.
Genuine question. Why is maintaining something a problem when you can ask your model to do it? Or the user can ask their model to do it? If the result is useable and offers speed or functional utility, what's the problem? I'm a little mystified, but maybe I'm missing something?
Re:Moatless – App stores are dead. Buy the code on Monday October 26, 2026 @11:46AM (#50245735)
What a great idea! I hope you get the momentum for lift off before a major decides to sweep up the idea for themselves.
Re:What If My Mum Can Build It Too? on Monday October 26, 2026 @09:17AM (#50243113)
Spot on. I've created a tin of personal mobile and desktop apps over the past 2 years, almost all of which are focused on scratching my itch. I've also created a tiny number which could be more 'commercial', whatever that means, but I don't care if they take off or not. I'm not in it for the money, just the craic. :)
Not good enough. What's the deadline on unfair cruelty, lying and deliberate abuse inflicted on innocent people? There should be no deadline until every last one has been compensated for the destruction of they lives by the Post Office, government and Fujitsu. Disgusting.

And what ever happened to that cow who was in charge at the time? Did she get jail, because she deserves it.

Yeah, in 2028!
Re:The economic folly of free buses on Monday October 12, 2026 @04:01AM (#50052955)
I'm with you on this one. But then again, it's the Economist right? Hardly worth critiquing. :)
Re:Nitter: Update Oct 10th seeking funding and legal help on Sunday October 11, 2026 @07:34AM (#50042103)
Surely Nitter is open source and has 1.4K forks alread. So it should be easy to ramp that up to several thousand more, which can make it harder to stop? or am i being naive?
Hmm...not really.
Re:In "Musk," Alex Gibney Punctures Elon's Self-Mythology on Friday October 09, 2026 @08:10PM (#50028140)
Nasty little snake oil salesman.
Just tried it, and it actually works surprisingly well. Only tried the Photoshop clone though.
How do we 1000% know this is absolute marketing BS? Because they announced it. What company has ever announced the non-release of a product before? None, they just don't release, silently. And move on. IPO fever pills, anyone?
Re:AI models are not hacking "autonomously" on Saturday September 19, 2026 @10:42AM (#49766957)
Very interesting
Re:War may be coming. Are we psychologically ready? on Friday September 18, 2026 @07:25PM (#49761618)
Oh for goodness sake, stop feeding the Russian bots. They love it too much!! :)
Re:A.I. Slopware Is Everywhere Now. Nobody Is Using It. on Wednesday September 16, 2026 @03:25PM (#49731696)
Why, thank you.
Re:A.I. Slopware Is Everywhere Now. Nobody Is Using It. on Wednesday September 16, 2026 @02:34AM (#49722823)
You're arguing with a bot probably. :) And I think you're right. The word 'slop' has become a lazy way to indicate that one is anti AI. Fair enough, eh?

I have a growing stable of self made 'slop'. products on my phone and computer which I use happily and productively every day to save time and provide assistance.

Re:Anthropic CEO calls for immediate slowdown in AI development on Saturday September 12, 2026 @11:57AM (#49673691)
Man, this pre-IPO propaganda is getting boring!
Re:A Figma clone built by GPT-6 Astra on Sunday September 06, 2026 @06:02AM (#49584937)
I have a phone and PC rapidly filling up with apps I've created myself because I'm fed up with subscriptions and invasive advertising. And they do exactly what I want them to do, not one iota more. And you don't need Alpha or Fable. Cheap models or local are now capable of doing the job if you are patient and know what you're doing. Calling this stuff AI slop is so short-sighted it's not true. :)
Really interesting experiment. Are there any other variables which could have been missed though?
Re:Anyone using llama.cpp willing to test LlamaRack? on Sunday September 06, 2026 @12:54AM (#49583449)
I'll give it a go. Currently using TurboLLM, so it'll be interesting to see the difference.
The only problem is it has a nasty habit of wiping all your settings on random upgrades. Did it to me recently. Instant uninstall.
>> artistic manifestos are often very focused on causing some of these feelings in their targets.

I notice you have dropped in 'artistic' which is a new criterion. Sloppy. :) Not interested in chatting with bots for now.

>> the manifesto writer intends for the target of the manifesto to be embarrassed

Huh? Citation please.

(and good catch on 'whom')

Embarrassing for who?
Re:'Temu Range Rovers' Are Taking over Britain on Thursday August 27, 2026 @02:49AM (#49460792)
Actually it does matter. They were terrible cars when owned by the British. And there's a chance they'll be much less terrible being owned by the Indians. I'm not sure they're that good to drive either. I had a Jag for a while and it was okay. But a bit of a wallowing boat and don't get me started on the roadholding of a Rangy.
