Yes, in Florida
Re:Suikoden creator Yoshitaka Murayama has passed away at 55 on Wednesday February 14, 2024 @01:45PM (#39373526)
Suikoden was released on PS1 in 1995, so he would have been just 26 at that time. Amazing. When the topic comes up of changing Japanese box art for western audiences, the first game I think of is Suikoden.

Re:Larry Lessig's theory: our society is governed by four forces on Tuesday September 19, 2023 @11:24AM (#37571265)
I think he correctly diagnosed that getting money out of politics is foundational to being able to make any sort of other lasting progress. I don't know why Democrat voters don't see that as the obvious direction that needs to be pursued to the exclusion of all else.

Re:Namecheap: Russia Service Termination on Monday February 28, 2022 @06:34PM (#30506747)
I'm a Namecheap customer and I support your decision.
This has been my exact experience with HD and Walmart. I hesitate to do online shopping with either as it seems so horribly wasteful. My last Walmart online order was various groceries that I assumed would be boxed together. Every item arrived from a different location. I don't ever again want someone driving to my house to deliver a big cardboard box stuffed with padding that contains a single bag of potato chips.

Try the 'images' tab.
I don't follow this
You'd have to constantly refill it, which would still require irrigation for transport.

Instead of centralized distillation plus transport, you have distributed mini distillers at point of consumption plus transport. This doesn't seem special, what am I missing?

Re:2020 Stock Market Crash on Monday March 16, 2020 @01:56PM (#22595328)
DT fired the previous Fed chair and replaced her with a man that was willing to cave to his demands.
Depends if I'm guilty or not.

Well, at least they smell edible.
Re:To Save a Neighborhood, Ban a Dollar Store? on Wednesday July 17, 2019 @07:32PM (#20465112)
Produce isn't the main profit driver maker for grocery stores. The presence of dollar stores can keep actual grocery stores from moving in, leaving communities with no access to fresh foods.

Sip is really nice, but in my experience it doesn't pick the exact color.

I love this, that is a great assignment for a Home Economics class.

I'm in central Florida and they ruined my pepper and tomato garden this year. Stinkbugs are on on every fruit.
Re:The marbled crayfish is a mutant species that clones itself on Tuesday February 06, 2018 @01:45AM (#16314808)
Be careful creating a market or a bounty as it creates a perverse incentive toward intentionally introducing it to news areas.
Re:My new favorite book of all time on Tuesday January 30, 2018 @02:59AM (#16263651)
The Sapiens author would have been around 34 years old at the time his book was published.
Why no Fox News?
Re:72% of Consumers Don't Know What Net Neutrality Is on Thursday August 17, 2017 @01:58PM (#15039149)
Personal anecdote, the past 4 places I've lived were suburbs with only one broadband provider, a couple of which had daily outages that they refused to fix because it was difficult.

If there was choice, but running cables and utility poles leads to a natural monopoly. Nobody has pockets deeper than Google, and even they failed to break into it.

Re:Mozilla Acquires Pocket on Monday February 27, 2017 @03:37PM (#13747724)
Totally unrelated, but I keep falling for this same cycle of disappointment based on testimonials for The Simpsons.
Re:After 1 minute on my modem (2016) on Saturday January 14, 2017 @04:42AM (#13397708)
Thanks, looked into it further on my own project and found my specific issue. The svg width and height attributes were missing from my webpack-built bundle even though they were part of the source svg file. The svg loader I was using (svg-inline-loader) was stripping with and height by default.
Re:After 1 minute on my modem (2016) on Saturday January 14, 2017 @03:59AM (#13397596)
Can someone tell me why SVGs are gigantic while first loading? I often see this even at modern connection speeds.
