Re:Pi Is the Last Harness on Sunday November 01, 2026 @10:38AM (#50326660)
I switched from Claude code to pi about two months ago and can’t imagine having to go back.

However, this is very much a “build what you need” type of harness. You have to be willing to use other people’s extensions or build/vibe your own before the harness is useful.

Why I find pi better:

- multi-provider/inference API support out of the box

- greater visibility into token flow/usage

- minimal system prompt

- no hand holding/decisions made for you on what your agents can/cannot do

- extremely customizable

- stable, minimal bugs in the base harness that I’ve experienced

- minimal feature bloat

It’s a great harness for someone who wants extreme control and adaptability. I don’t recommend it to my peers and colleagues who aren’t into tinkering.

If you could make this into an iPhone app, I’d use it daily.

Wonderful idea and execution. Thank you

Gave me a good chuckle. Cool idea though, and I like the records. Reminds me a bit of the OpenAI hacking incidents.

Is it public? Would love to try it!
Yes. It’s called Severely Deficient Autobiographical Memory (SDAM).

I suffer from it quite badly. I can remember broad and important details, but struggle to remember even moderate details from anything beyond the past 2-3 months, with sharp falloff after that.

Once I started using Immich and was able to see my old photos from across adulthood and childhood (I used to just dump them onto HDDs), I experienced a sharp reconnection with myself and my past.

Maybe they could find something similar (Apple Photos, Google Photos, Immich, etc.)!

Ive aligned to literally the exact same lineup. Amex blue cash preferred for our 6% groceries.

Please expand… how does this help you find ticks?
Re:Vehicle Motion Cues on Tuesday July 28, 2026 @08:10AM (#49082617)
Thank you so much for sharing this. I’ve been saying to my wife for about a year now that I wish MacBooks had the motion cues feature… turns out I just needed to search for it!
Re:Nothing works and everyone is euphoric on Friday July 24, 2026 @10:28AM (#49036230)
My conspiracy theory is that Reddit intentionally makes the iOS Safari experience awful to drive people to download the app.

I’m sure it works.

But for me, it drove me to stop using Reddit on my phone.

Re:Watching a language model think before it speaks on Wednesday July 22, 2026 @10:04AM (#49007036)
I’d love to see a recording of this in action for a complicated question.

This article also reads with many LLM-isms, so I can’t tell if a human actually produced it.

Re:What xAI's Grok Build CLI Actually Sends to xAI on Saturday July 11, 2026 @11:11PM (#48877939)
I wish a human would’ve written the overview.

Nonetheless, this is disturbing.

Re:Write code like a human will maintain it on Friday July 10, 2026 @12:12PM (#48861916)
This drives me nuts as well. I hate also hate when LLMs use plan-document references in comments/doc strings too. “Landed in stage 1…”

I have a lot of CLAUDE.md rules to restrict this stuff, but realize the “encapsulation” language is something I’m missing.

Re:Ben Bernanke Joins Anthropic Oversight Trust on Friday July 10, 2026 @01:57AM (#48856257)
Dick Cheney passed away in 2025, just an FYI.
Re:I think I have LLM burnout on Wednesday July 08, 2026 @11:46PM (#48840741)
Agreed. I am working hard to restrict myself to only 1-2 agent workflows at a time. More is untenable, though it’s so easy to fall into the trap of deploying an agent “just for this minor fix.”
Re:Qwen 3.6 27B is the sweet spot for local development on Monday June 29, 2026 @04:06PM (#48724426)
I mean, have you looked for examples of things that people using local models to build and ship? Or are you just assuming it doesn’t happen?

I’ve used Qwen 3.6 27B for many things at work, and I’m regularly able use it for reasonably scoped tasks.

I’m not saying these models are perfect.

But you are complaining about people on the extreme, while at the same shouting from the opposite extreme.

Thanks for sharing. Were you able to resolve the Lyme?
Commenting for future reference in case OP ever responds. Would love to learn more

Have you tried audiobooks?
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (June 2026) on Sunday June 14, 2026 @02:15PM (#48530665)
Interesting idea. What languages do you support? Can it be used without a subscription?
Re:The Butlerian Jihad Has Begun on Monday June 08, 2026 @10:19AM (#48445758)
Sounds very Hemingway.

OP might benefit from using https://hemingwayapp.com/

This doc on Ilya Sutskever & Geoffrey Hinton gives a great background on the progression of deep learning over the past decades [0].

Tl;dr - compute was the bottleneck.

I am not associated with this channel/video, just love it. I’ve shared it here before.

Re:What was your "Oh Shit" moment with GenAI? on Saturday June 06, 2026 @11:50AM (#48426152)
Would you be willing to share the annotated example? I’m stunned to hear this, I didn’t know that vision had become so capable.
Re:What was your "Oh Shit" moment with GenAI? on Friday June 05, 2026 @07:58PM (#48419925)
From pictures alone? What are some examples?
This is awesome OP.

Others interested in this but on iOS could check out Hank Green’s Focus Friend app.

Re:We should be more tired than the model on Friday May 29, 2026 @09:05AM (#48322605)
Interesting idea.

It’s almost like a buffer space would be useful for code.

I’ve been using tuicr for agent code reviews and have been enjoying that. I think I’ll try your idea as part of my workflow.

Re:I am not a black belt on Wednesday May 27, 2026 @11:09PM (#48303963)
Agreed it looks beautiful in those vids. It feels like almost more of a dance than something that might “work on the street”.

Hopefully not offensive, just my layman observation.

Fair point, wasn’t considering it from this angle.
Do you use Claude code on your machine? That seems mostly vibe coded
Re:I’ve joined Anthropic on Tuesday May 19, 2026 @04:23PM (#48199004)
Oh my god, my two worlds just had an insane collision.

I learned speed cubing from badmefisto when I was in middle school, ~16yr ago (today my ao100 is ~15s).

I never knew it was Karpathy. What an insane knowledge drop. Thanks for sharing!
