So (obvious question) how hard was it working using one hand as your brother was forcing your other one?

I bought the TUXEDO InfinityBook Pro 14" with Ryzen 9900HX and 96GB running Linux and it's even better than my previous Dell XPS 15. Smaller, lighter and faster. And it only costs something like €2K.

The story is nice; not super unique. The scene that Seth and Eliza see an old teacher of Seth is nice. The AI gives some people purpose and takes it away for some (Tabby).

Can't find it; we get a lot. I have to correct myself it wasn't root access but machine access. But still a very weird requirement.

I have the feeling that for some time now the CVE scores are insane. A while back we have a security issue with a dependency in Java that had a score of 9 I believe. It had a requirement that the attacker had root access.

On my last vacation I came across a similar message on reddit[0] and it totally spooked me.
I have been telling my wife I want to move as my area (at some point) will be flooded. I live in the Netherlands and when the icecaps have melted (WHEN not IF) I live in the wrong part.

Apart from his news: if Snowden want to get out of exile and return to the US; the current administration can be bought. The next president will probably still wants to jail him (or worse)

My browser (FireFox) shows a warning before opening the site. Followed by a blocked message by my DNS provider because the site is malicious. I'll need to do some network changes if I want to see this.

I lived a short time in my 20s with friends a few blocks from my parents. When I returned to live with my parents for a short period the entire dynamic changed. You leave the house so you don't go to your room, you visit. I started talking more and listening to music with them. I really appreciated my parents more. I hope my relationship with my children will be the same.

Well as soon as your pricing is available and full onboarding is done, I will be pushing for it at work. We just left bitbucket and I have everything stored locally until we find an alternative and I just found it.

I keep a personal list of links to defend my non-AI stance. It is weird I even need to. If I am a carpenter and I was ordered to use a robot and tell it what to do there would be lawsuits and what not but as a software developer I am the idiot that does not want to modernize.

I still point to this document as the base of DevOps. Most people I work with in IT never read it. If you want to do proper DevOps these are a requirement not optional.
Last time I pointed someone to this site was last week.

Nearly a third of respondents (32 percent) report that their organizations have decided against buying one or more software products or features because they could be built internally with agentic coding tools.
People think they can do it themself... kind of like how everyone build their own database using Microsoft Access in the 90's. When all software developers needed to repair all the issues...

I once needed to maintain an application written in everything Oracle. If I ever encounter the original author of that product: I have things to say to him.
We quickly replaced part by part by easier, less costly parts.
Software development is not just writing code; I think all HN users know that.
