I would think some sort of mesh beacon network on all flying things to enable auto-avoidance protocols, would be a logical technology solution?

Beyond semantics though, russia would have been in much worse shape without iranian drones, nk ammo and chinese everything (no pure military gear yet, but plenty other material)

Maybe because russia has repeatedly signed then broken border agreements? What goes around comes around, there were statements about Alaska being rightfully russian too.

That was how NBA league pass used to work, I have watched my team for many seasons, modulo a decent VPN ;) With their recent change of CDN provider, I had to cancel my season subscription, which was a very reasonable $120 or so for all the games of all the teams, including the playoffs. Now I stream, and pay $0 :)

Re:How to Build a Low-Tech Solar Panel?

Yes, trade-offs all the way down :)
Physical damage of the nature you described affects many forms of digital storage too, though I doubt vermins will find them very palatable. And there could be many copies of a book, to your second point. There is also the question of the specialized equipment needed to read the digital media. As I said, trade offs. I try to maintain a personal book library just because I was an avid reader growing up, in the pre-internet days, and I don't want to see the future generations go pure digital, but maybe it is inevitable.

A little on a tangent, but I've been thinking that it might be valuable to keep this offline knowledge infra around for backup, afaik properly stored book has lifespan that is still an order of magnitute longer than any digital storage.

Doing things together in groups, which leads to almost by definition having to build relationships, including romantic, seems like the best way, and that's how things were before Internet. Some commenters above hit kind of the same notes, and I wonder, maybe an app that builds a mixed group of men and women to do some activity together offline, would result in better outcomes. Of course this will be gamed in no time by the bad intentioned. I think the truth is, that finding a mate has always been a crapshot, and largely random, through out history of life itself. Internet does not seem very successful as a mating platform, I have never been a user of dating apps so what would I know, but maybe on average it's just a little better than randomly stumbling on potential life partners. Still, going out and meeting people instead of staring in screens feels more natural to me.

I'd say both, and it is failing at both counts :). The federal government is actually thinking of imposing it across Canada, even though most other places other than Vancouver and Toronto could actually use some foreign investment.

They've tried something to that effect in Vancouver and Toronto. It is 15% tax for non-residents, in Toronto at least. Was instituted 2017, and it did not change a thing, both cities still among the hottest real estate markets in the world.
