Of course we 'ad it tough

We used to have whistle Hayes codes up t'phone line ourselves - after making our own modem leads out 'o back to back NULL modems.

Ones and Zeros - you were lucky. We only had zeros and we had to catch wild ones and skin em ourselves.

You're exactly right though ;-)

As a 40+ engineer I would have considered REST urls but facebook would never have occurred to me.

Yep it's tough being over 40 - we don't really understand this web stuff. I mean we invented it all 20years ago, we wrote the first browsers and the first servers, we wrote the first pages - but since we don't spend all our time following #britney or end every sentence with LOL we obviously can't understand it.

Now you kids get off my (virtual) lawn

The nice thing about being a startup in Vancouver is you have really motivated staff

We keep an office in Toronto to send all the failures to - that really motivates people to succeed!

Touch screens suck in those environments.

We used to use a fancy touchscreen gadget in mining - where everything is covered in water, oid, dust and you wear gloves - genius idea!

Re:Top ten reasons why I won't use your open source project on Monday January 31, 2011 @01:19PM (#2162537)
Depends on the product - this pitch is aimed at 'cool new web framework' type opensource projects.

If I'm looking for a heavy duty technical library, say 3D mesh generation or image processing I want someone serious behind - preferably with a full time academic job in the field and some papers, more than a twitter account and a cool logo.
