Re:Subquadratic 3SUM and Subcubic APSP on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @10:01PM (#49987074)
obviously the overlap is tiny so people are not excited.

And yes, nobody is that excited about vatsachak's mathematician-ism. it's just a thing he do. And now it's just a thing AI do.

Re:Subquadratic 3SUM and Subcubic APSP on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @09:34PM (#49986822)
it just means that the assumptions we are making in the first place is wrong? nothing here is a dead-end because essentially we are at the same place before. people might even go ahead and say now if it's n^1.5 what happens, what results can be true.

i feel like you are arguing there is -- even in the narrow utility of PROOFS -- there is a goodness in being an ostrich with its head in the sand. If that's true, people can still be that ostrich and pretend the bound is now n^1.9 or something.

Re:World Labs Is Joining AMD on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @12:22AM (#49888245)
ignoring op's out-of-place personal attacks, what about the world lab's model capability - do you agree?
no way. one is functionally (slightly overhyped) magic. another is better tool.
Re:Waymo in Singapore on Friday September 18, 2026 @01:14AM (#49750419)
it's easy to want one
i agree, it's essentially copywriting
u end up with stack based heap likes anyways
unfortunately, the worse of both can be true at once.
if you are reading the comments - it's news to a lot of less-wired-in persons (like most of us)
and still they denied it - it only shows that we have little recourse.
Re:Navier-Stokes – Tristan Buckmaster [pdf] on Tuesday September 08, 2026 @10:47PM (#49620214)
I think it's worse - openai didn't even deny training on their exact manuscript (when they most likely opted out);
Re:On the Navier–Stokes Millennium Prize Problem on Tuesday September 08, 2026 @10:39PM (#49620155)
it's buried because due to the drama the evidence is scarce
Re:On the Navier–Stokes Millennium Prize Problem on Tuesday September 08, 2026 @10:37PM (#49620143)
this is not untrue but it's a pendulum swinging back to ancient times man
Re:Muse: Meta's personal AI agent, features and capabilities on Tuesday September 08, 2026 @10:28PM (#49620077)
I think you are overestimating things. While there will be people who don't know - it's probably not as many as you think.
Re:I used Fable to rewrite 65kLoC of Go in Rust. It cost $400 on Wednesday September 02, 2026 @01:21AM (#49532061)

Re:Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos 5.1 on Wednesday September 02, 2026 @01:15AM (#49532014)

Re:Bhartrhari's Paradox on Saturday August 29, 2026 @08:25AM (#49489352)
naming schemes can produce uncountably inf names
Re:Bhartrhari's Paradox on Saturday August 29, 2026 @08:11AM (#49489248)
i think there must be a scheme of naming that is uncountably infinite too.
Re:TurboKV: Insanely fast Rust key-value store on Saturday August 29, 2026 @07:34AM (#49489034)
that's optimizing a pretty fast already portion of code. unlikely it's the difference maker.

Re:GitHub Outage Tracker: Is GitHub Cooked? on Thursday August 27, 2026 @12:02AM (#49459540)
One, logically, your statement doesn't follow. They're two different companies that have primarily in different market segment. Two, it's not true in the first place - did we side with apple and its cut of the app store revenue for instance?
Re:GitHub Outage Tracker: Is GitHub Cooked? on Wednesday August 26, 2026 @11:42PM (#49459383)
not constructive, but also not personal. rude but based on observed facts.

it's because it is a narrow set of never-pay-a-human. in that world, only certain task won't be done by human.
main reason is the 30days retention; not the plan changes
