It is factually true though, music piracy DID drop once ad supported music streaming became available, the opposite is also true, video/movie piracy is now on the rise due to the amount of streaming subscriptions one has to juggle and their rising prices. Ofcourse there will always be those who yearn for the pirates life, but the vast majority just do it for convenience.
This is matching the levels of surveillance in north Korea. They also have software that takes pictures of your screen every few seconds.

Please elucidate, my personal takeaway from this post was how women are treated unfairly which leads to lower birth rates. The article goes into depth about this.
Re:South Korea – A Cautionary Tale for the Rest of Humanity on Thursday December 11, 2025 @10:27AM (#46232551)
The article lists several examples of government programs from different regions that pay people to have kids and their efficacy.
Re:South Korea – A Cautionary Tale for the Rest of Humanity on Thursday December 11, 2025 @10:08AM (#46232317)
By that point you would need an ubsurd amount of kids per family to recover the birth rates, also mentioning that your checks are paying for a growing elderly population and it becomes nearly impossible to recover.
Re:Nook Browser on Sunday December 07, 2025 @03:35AM (#46180155)
Oops I misunderstood, I thought the fact that it ran chrome extensions meant it was chromium based. Thanks.
Re:Nook Browser on Saturday December 06, 2025 @03:51AM (#46171743)
I found it too buggy in my usage, it just doesn't compare to the polish in Zen or the other forks. Better just to use the horizontal tabs IMO.
Re:Nook Browser on Saturday December 06, 2025 @02:59AM (#46171510)
The only difference is zen is Firefox based while arc and nook are chromium based.

Have you made a bug report?
AGI has value in automation and optimisation which increase profit margins. When AGI is everywhere, then the game is who has the smartest agi, who can offer it cheapest, who can specialise it for my niche etc. Also in this context agi need to run somewhere and IBM stands to benefit from running other peoples models.
What makes me suspect them the most was the fact that they use pure neon green text on black as their tty color. (seriously who does that?)
I think its more resource intensive to record a more optimised format.
I think criminalising both is unreasonable, what you do with the URL you accessed or the password you guessed however is different.
Re:CachyOS: Fast and Customizable Linux Distribution on Sunday November 30, 2025 @06:42AM (#46095851)
I've seen this be popular but I'm a little sceptical as to the effectiveness of their optimisations. Does anyone have some examples, anecdotes?
Re:The VPN panic is only getting started on Friday November 28, 2025 @07:43AM (#46078148)
TOR and the torweb
I feel like a lot of these can be packaged as an extension for vscode. I'd rather not have multiple different variations of the same ide, too much duplication.
Re:I don't care how well your "AI" works on Wednesday November 26, 2025 @06:45AM (#46056465)
I prefer eternally enslaving a machine to do my bidding over just raging at them.
Make a jury or blind models making a case for the best response and choose a random model to be the judge.
Seems interesting, makes for the second vscode clone with ai google has made. The demo they showed in the video avoided showing code so I guess thats what they're aiming for. Although when they mentioned you can easily verify code quality by looking at end product screenshots it felt like they don't know what 'code' quality means.
Re:Human Fovea Detector on Wednesday November 12, 2025 @09:43PM (#45909870)
Its supposed to show you how big of a radius your eye can focus on at a time, as we age the radius shrinks.

Edit: seems like there isn't enough research to suggest the latter. Apologies

I am unable to access this post anymore, seems like it was deleted
Re:AI isn't replacing jobs. AI spending is on Sunday November 09, 2025 @02:46PM (#45868521)
Its more about social engineering (this was the case for the m&s hack), if you outsource your work, you have less visibility over the people that work for you and it becomes more of a black box. This leads to worse employee awareness in general.
Re:About KeePassXC's Code Quality Control on Sunday November 09, 2025 @02:11PM (#45868214)
I'd trust them to know what they're with KeePassXC given their track record with it.
You get grok Lady for the latter.
I think there's still value in learning the C++ language and making a game or a demo is quite rewarding although raylib does have bindings for basically every conceivable language.

The browser you're looking for already exists :) (partially) its called arc browser on mobile and specifically their browse for me feature
