How about a condition where the person looks like a woman, acts like a woman, but has XY chromosomes and internal testes?

You can always just do integer pixel scaling which will look just as good as the original

Anecdotally, I didn't have a car until I got my first job. Not everyone has parents that can just buy them a car.
Or else what? I didn't accept anything when I went to youtube.com

Can you force me to keep to an agreement I didn't agree to?

It doesn't have to be youtube.com

plenty of sites get hacked and hackers phish their users, it's very real

I didn't sign a contract, so any exchange youtube perceives from my visit is their own hallucination because I didn't agree to their terms.
I don't know if I want to see the content or not until I request the page.

What if I go on youtube, but some scammer replaced it with a page that says "your computer is hacked, send BTC to enable youtube, go to scamwebsite.com". My safe browsing add-on should be able to block the content of scamwebsite.com, or even block this message completely if the maintainers act more quickly than youtube

To argue "you visited youtube.com and the scammer has the right to show you the scam message" is not logical, so why should "you visited youtube.com and Google has the right to show you advertisements" hold? You only argued from the act of visiting the website and it costing someone money. It costs the scammer money to serve the requests from billions of people hitting the website, that doesn't change from the perspective of your argument.

It's actually much easier

When people say in English one hundred thousand one thousand and ten, you will need to visualize the digits

101,010

But in Chinese you say 10 * 10^4, 1 * 10^3, 0, 1 * 10

the zero helps you write a zero after the second one without making a mistake

Re:1.18k drawings of plant root systems on Tuesday April 09, 2024 @02:30AM (#39976667)
interestingly, in Chinese you would say 1k1h8 when pronouncing the numbers
Re:1.18k drawings of plant root systems on Tuesday April 09, 2024 @02:22AM (#39976630)
nobody adds the decimal digit to integers, though

1180 can be 4 significant digits if the count is precise

Just hit the ball back, simple as
Re:Avoid blundering: 80% of a winning strategy on Wednesday April 03, 2024 @04:13AM (#39914771)
Yes, but PayPal was growing off the back of eBay, CyberCash never became entrenched to get the first mover's advantage

> The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on March 11, 2001. VeriSign acquired the Cybercash assets (except for ICVerify) and name a couple of months later. On November 21, 2005 PayPal (already an eBay company) acquired VeriSign's payment services, including Cybercash.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CyberCash

so in a way, PayPal ate a lot of the other payment processors

Re:Avoid blundering: 80% of a winning strategy on Wednesday April 03, 2024 @02:17AM (#39914189)
That's not applicable to chess. Some blunders are deep and neither player sees mate in 10.

The computer immediately sees mate in 10 and calls the last move a blunder. The opponent misses the mate in 10 and moves elsewhere, the computer puts it as a blunder.

Both players blundered without even seeing a clear win, and it would take them an hour of analysis to see the exact sequence and prove there's no way to escape it even though there are a hundred variations

Re:Avoid blundering: 80% of a winning strategy on Wednesday April 03, 2024 @02:15AM (#39914180)
That's you, when I play aggressive chess the OTHER side makes blunders. It will show up as "the other player made a mistake so you won" and as an unforced error

of course it's unforced, if we all played perfectly there would be no game to play, but the aggression is what showed their bad tactical play

Re:Avoid blundering: 80% of a winning strategy on Wednesday April 03, 2024 @02:13AM (#39914171)
Unless your first mover advantage lets you just stay there for decades. See: PayPal

they have only now been dethroned as the default credit card processor despite being awful to work with when I tried to integrate their API circa 2010

Re:Avoid blundering: 80% of a winning strategy on Wednesday April 03, 2024 @02:12AM (#39914162)
Avoid blundering?

To do that, you need to learn opening strategy, endgame strategy, tactics, etc.

This isn't helpful

For example, payday loans are explicit in saying they will charge you a percentage of your payday for a 14 day loan. But if you do the math, it's about 1000% interest annually

It's not a crime either, but it's predatory

Re:Sam Bankman-Fried sentenced to 25 years in prison on Friday March 29, 2024 @12:39PM (#39866063)
for people with credit over 800 the default rate must be extremely low

otherwise I wouldn't have this credit rating and the bank wouldn't trust me with over $100,000 credit limit combined over all of my credit cards

the reason I agree to this rate is because I never pay it, I loan from my broker instead where I pay like a few bips over LIBOR

Re:Sam Bankman-Fried sentenced to 25 years in prison on Friday March 29, 2024 @02:53AM (#39861339)
They are smart enough to make all their grifts "fees" and "interest rates"

For example, charging 17% on a credit card bill when the interest rate is 5.25%

and that's on excellent credit like mine where I haven't missed a payment in almost 20 years
