Because there is nothing else to buy. Real global growth is almost zero, so the dollars around the world are starting to come back, but as I mentioned, there is almost nothing else to buy.
The economy bus crashed into a wall a couple of years ago, but while the the front is completely wrecked the rear still hasn’t noticed the impact. Money is flowing front to back trying to escape, yet at the same time governments pour even more money at the windshield so people at the back don’t notice the accident.
Stocks are safe assets as long as the fed keeps thinking stocks are the economy, real state is a safe asset as long as the government and police exists.
> there is no reason to believe that, in the absence of a centralizing force, the weights should standardize.
That force is commerce, and it has almost never been absent in human history.
No you cannot. Government is stopping you by preventing companies from hiring workers for more than they allow. That is the reason people get two or even three jobs.
> It's so weird to me to see people argue against a shorter work week.
No one is arguing against a shorter work week, that's just misrepresenting the position. Furthermore, you've been able to offer 4 day work weeks to your employees since forever, no one is stopping you. In fact you can offer them 3 days work week right now since you are so benevolent. Why don't you offer them 1 day work weeks while you are at it? You should make a list for that.
The pushback is against the idea of government decreeing the number of days you are allowed to work.
They are so unlikely, everyone else that didn't make it feels entitled to tell them how to be successful.
They are literally threatening to split Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Google. Crime is up 1000% and people like you are dismissing it. It is a safe city if you never bother to walk into the city, and the problem is expanding. It won't be a safe city for much longer, or a rich city.
There are no restaurants in the world that can change that.
> If you think there are not strategists taking the best available information an d making 30 year plans then you are quite mistaken.
So they planed all of this then, 30 years ago right? This is what the strategists wanted? Pretty lame strategists if you ask me.
> I have a feeling people who don’t get the vaccine are going to end up in camps. I know that’s already true in some countries.
That is a lie. In no country that is happening.
I mean, everything you said is a lie, but don't have more time to waste with "arguments" like yours, just wanted to make sure everyone else here knows that that baseless claim in particular is a lie.
Blaming others for your position in life will not change your situation. Divisiveness through lies like this, when there are plenty of examples to refute it, is not the solution. You are radicalizing the discussion on a topic only unity can tackle, and that will not end well.
He means rich families where also once poor.
Innovation requires instability. Europe decided long ago that life security and 'quality of life' was their goal, which is a worthy goal, but every decision you make means there is a path you didn't take.
You can't have everything.
Aren't prosperity and wealth things we want to see? We shouldn't tax wealth at all, that is what we want, a wealthy society.
There is only one that matters, the number of graduates working in a field unrelated to the degree.
In a gold standard the price of gold would not be 'above its free market valuation' but it would
be the market valuation, taking into account its rediscovered monetary role.
In a gold standard the currency used would still be the dollar, just backed by gold, so the FED would be able to print it into the dust just the same. The money supply could still expand just as it does now to accommodate for growth, but the main difference is the rest of the world wouldn't be subsidizing the US any longer.
They are not required to accept them, OnlyFans is doing it just fine without Apple. They chose to be in Apple's platform. Voluntarily.
Yeah, computing is not a market.
I get you are trying to win an easy sentimental argument, but making your own market definitions will not make them a monopoly.
Apple sells products, not "computing". In no market where they sell products they have a monopoly.
Apple doesn't have a monopoly on any market.
If you engage with those actors accepting the terms that is exactly what it means.
Because it's America and they can decide to charge whatever they want for their product?
Like today? It has always been a race to the bottom, that is why things are cheaper today which means life is better today, and that is why we invent technology to momentarily be on top of that race because it can't be stoped, that's why we have to keep inventing it.
It looks fantastic, is Ford reinventing itself as a 'ford'ward looking company? Sedans are out trucks are in, and trucks are what Ford does best. In a few years if the offer a sub 25k all electric even with moderate range they will own the market.
It was the lack laws preventing you from charging whatever you wanted for your own labor, and the lack of laws that forced you to give away a significant portion of that wage.
What speech is illegal? What is the list of words not allowed by law to be spoken?
Free speech is the only “right” that matters. Thoughtcrime should not be allowed to be prosecuted, mob lynching is not justice. But if the ACLU is compromised maybe it is too late.
No currency ever has been 100% stable. The exchange rate is how we perceive it in the modern economy, but fluctuation in commodity prices was the indicator of an stable, or not, currency when the gold standard was in place. That will be the indicator if bitcoin, or any other currency, achieve 100% use, which in itself is impossible.
But there is no guarantee to stability, bitcoin doesn’t provide it any more than the usd backed by millions of soldiers does. Stability begins on the production side, not the monetary one; after a huge drought you’ll see prices skyrocket irrespective of the currency.
Exactly, there are none that wants them. That should be the wake up call to all "wokes".
> Employees have started to think that who they work for should reflect their values. And why not?
Then this is perfect, they can leave and find a job that does reflect their values. They should've quitted right when they realized their values weren't aligned but I guess they valued a severance package more. Still, win-win.
Is it that crazy? It's the reason Google not only developed Android, but Chrome, ChromeOS, Fuchsia, the Google speaker thing and all that, and Samsung has Tizen, which is sort of their plan B, of plan F or whatever, and Amazon developed the Fire line, Alexa, AWS, the speaker thing, etc.
They know they can't trust each other. Even Apple had to develop their own maps!
It's really a surprise Facebook was so blindsided by this, they should've known better.
Society should be grateful he/she is so productive as to deserve it.
