It could be much better games too developed using AI assistance. Just saying, using AI is not necessarily slop.
Re:The foolishness of "natural language programming" (1978) on Thursday October 22, 2026 @10:05PM (#50203683)
You mean the English to code layer is stochastic while code to assembly is not?

This stochastic nature existed before AI. Humans are stochastic too. Two engineers convert specs to code in two different ways. I would argue the distribution is wider among humans than among agents.

I had to google “clanker”.
Re:A Map of Every Lighthouse on the Planet on Sunday October 04, 2026 @12:39PM (#49955430)
Looks cool but on iPhone can’t zoom with touchscreen, and can’t tap either to select a lighthouse.
Re:Agents don't need memory. They need documentation on Sunday October 04, 2026 @02:59AM (#49951374)
Coming from Obsidian, I see such repos and I’m like, is this a new thing for the world?
Re:Prompting Claude Opus 5.5 on Thursday October 01, 2026 @12:21PM (#49923728)
Yes that solve the knowledge part but there are also steps I need to repeat. Example: how to run a code based on risk level. That requires a tool, not just text.
Re:Prompting Claude Opus 5.5 on Monday September 28, 2026 @08:41AM (#49877067)
Are your projects standalone? Because why I need tooling is to carry over the learning and knowledge from one project to next.
Re:Anthropic Claude and API service outages on Monday August 24, 2026 @03:33AM (#49416335)
How they go down globally? All regions use the same infra?
Re:Why does Opus 5 feel worse to work with? on Friday August 14, 2026 @11:54PM (#49307488)
I had to setup hooks just to catch the and ban them in the CLIs. Most of what Claude writes is simply un-readable.
Topical - that’s the problem to solve for orbital data centers
Re:Railway GCP Account Suspension Incident Report on Wednesday May 20, 2026 @01:53PM (#48211481)
Had similar experience with GCP. Terminated VMs six times, and responded zero times.
Re:I quit drinking for a year on Monday April 27, 2026 @10:39PM (#47929932)
I stopped mostly after Claude Code. 1. Too many interesting things to do 2. I asked it to rate my diet and maintain a streak - which now I don’t want to lose
…and the first paragraph has an em dash
I thought so too. But I would rather use docstrings and comments because: - Readable by LLMs/others in the context of the code - Searchable - Version controlled
I develop AI for a living and I don’t understand the internals of it either, just as I don’t understand the internals of Intel architecture. My job is to build, not to fit information into my mind.
Re:A single line of code cost $8000 on Tuesday April 29, 2025 @05:35AM (#43830393)
Plenty of (valid) criticism in the comments, but I appreciate the developer for publishing it.
At first glance this seems to be a run of the mill clustering project. Why is it on the HN front page? Am I missing something?
Re:Show HN: A modern Jupyter client for macOS on Monday July 08, 2024 @12:26PM (#40906781)
When I first started coding, I wished there was an “app” for it where I just start writing code. Now there is.
Re:Your Phone, Minus the Distractions on Sunday June 09, 2024 @03:06AM (#40622570)
Or just use a cellular watch like Apple Watch Ultra instead of carrying a phone with you all the time.
Perplexity is big enough to be named in Bloomberg?
Re:Game of Life, simulating itself, infinitely zoomable on Saturday March 23, 2024 @10:39AM (#39800270)
This proves it won’t take much to simulate reality.
Re:Ask HN: What happened to normal-sized smartphones? on Tuesday January 23, 2024 @09:26AM (#39103675)
I sort of use Apple Watch as a small phone when I don’t want to lug around the iPhone
