The article mentions alumina particles, which is not something I'm familiar with
Re:Beeper Mini removed from Google Play? on Sunday December 24, 2023 @09:23AM (#38753639)
I dont believe Apple has ever authorized anybody to use iMessage.

If they even had a way to do it that would be surprising.

Re:Modern iOS Navigation Patterns on Wednesday December 13, 2023 @06:11AM (#38625645)
I had to Google it and I think I've seen this thing in the status bar sometimes on iOS but it's definitely not consistent.

I wasn't even aware it was supposed to be a button

Re:To revive Portland, officials seek to ban public drug use on Tuesday December 12, 2023 @03:54PM (#38618356)
>racism is no longer a big aspect of the war on drugs as of 2023.

Maybe in some places that might be true, but people are still in jail from the past.

Re:Moody's lowers outlook on US debt to 'negative' on Monday November 13, 2023 @04:20AM (#38248447)
The new thing was Trump pretty successfully fighting off efforts to examine his finances for his entire term.
No system is perfect, but you're very unlikely to get banned outside of high profile multiplayer games.
Re:Apple fucked us on right to repair (again) on Saturday September 23, 2023 @08:57AM (#37622858)
It's not going to be exactly like using Apple stuff with each other but you can probably do a lot more than you think.
Re:Install Windows the Arch Linux Way on Thursday September 21, 2023 @07:38AM (#37596159)
The title says arch and I remember trying to install it once and it's just like 'connect to wifi' and dumps me at the command line.

I managed to figure it out by digging through documentation but the installation experience was extremely rough compared to every Windows version I can remember.

Re:The dongle we have all been waiting for on Wednesday September 13, 2023 @02:13PM (#37499759)
I don't really have specific 'phone' accessories but $29 could pay for something instead of a dongle.

Re:The internet's “town square” is dead on Monday July 10, 2023 @03:44AM (#36663230)
Curve flattening was about trying not to overwhelm the hospitals.
I'm pretty sure they still force auto arrange of the icons on the home screen.

It's probably invisible to most Apple users but it's a bit puzzling to anybody coming from anywhere else.

Re:Reddit is in danger of a death spiral on Friday June 23, 2023 @05:10PM (#36452198)
I can't remember another time they seemed to be so intent on breaching the trust thermocline.

If they ever do reverse their course on the API changes, the trust in it will remain burned.

Re:Miraheze Is Not Shutting Down on Tuesday June 20, 2023 @08:50AM (#36403251)
You can reason perfectly and still be wrong - because you have applied the logic wrong in some way.
Re:AzireVPN now supports port-forwarding (WireGuard) on Sunday June 18, 2023 @04:43PM (#36384256)
He's talking about the distinction - anybody concerned with privacy should probably be capable of producing or otherwise finding a random username and password.
Re:Intravenous Caffeine on Thursday June 08, 2023 @11:08PM (#36252626)
I've done this sort of caffeinated nap when I chugged a cup of coffee and passed out. It feels as bad as it sounds but it was effective.
There was a long period where they were quarantined and the modding quality fell through the floor before they were finally banned.
Re:Where Did Personal Computing Go Wrong (2020) on Tuesday May 09, 2023 @11:59AM (#35876373)
We used to do hacky stuff on Windows Mobile pre iPhone.

My first streaming setup basically used SSH to control my MPD server but it worked.

Re:Finland becomes 31st member of NATO on Tuesday April 04, 2023 @02:52PM (#35444303)
Turkey has developed a pattern of opportunistic behavior.

Is there seriously big terrorism issues in Turkey or is this more a case of the right wheels not being greased?

Re:Trump’s Prosecution Has Set a Dangerous Precedent on Saturday April 01, 2023 @12:09PM (#35401386)
I would have said not holding him accountable set the dangerous precedent already.

Anybody who breaks the law should be equally liable.

Re:YouTube’s Chaotic Rise to World Domination on Saturday March 25, 2023 @12:35PM (#35304300)
You can just start at the bottom, with a keyboard you can just hold END

If the flow reversal is so bothersome it's possible to put it into a playlist.

Re:YouTube’s Chaotic Rise to World Domination on Saturday March 25, 2023 @11:33AM (#35303657)
The default is chronological sorting.

You could just go to the bottom and work upwards.

Would Bb tedious with a lot of videos but it's still trivial to make a playlist in whatever order you wish.

You could just believe Trump on his word but that seemed to change.

Unless there is a perjury penalty involved, and suddenly there was little to go on.

Re:I hate telephones (2017) on Tuesday September 27, 2022 @10:48AM (#32995985)
The original piece just seems so anxious.

A better title would almost be 'Telephones make me anxious' because I don't think they hate the technology itself.

If you bother to read the research they've done it makes the case that most people never change the default browser.

That's basically how most people 'choose' their browser.

It also goes over how every other browser engine is actually a Chrome ripoff - some UX changes don't make that so.
