”but in other (informal) contexts means a small number"

Isn't there a word for that ? I'm thinking of "several". That is what I learned in school (not a native english speaker )

I don't know if I would draw the line @ "than can be provided on site"

Learn to code, Artsy edition.
Good way of "disrupting" the blender/appliances market.

It does't need to be a built-in to have a man page (many first party and third party libraries come with their own man pages).
Re:Stupid Unix Tricks on Friday October 18, 2019 @03:54AM (#21289451)
i do think 'man command' should bring up the specific man page for this, so there is no need to search into the bash man. this works with most builtin shell commands. e.g. 'man ls' is a thing
That is not what the application does though. it is not "being used to organize anti-government protests". that is not the reason it was removed. it was a map with icons. by that logic any and all communications apps ( telegram especially) would be outside the law because you can organize protests using them, way better than using icons on a map.
Re:Apple Removes HKmap.live from the App Store on Thursday October 10, 2019 @03:23AM (#21211812)
Isn't Waze also displaying police forces ? Also by croudsourcing information ? Why is Apple not looking into that ?
Re:Personal information and ads on Twitter on Tuesday October 08, 2019 @05:49PM (#21197659)
why call it error ? there was no undefined behavior; someone actually implemented and tested whether it worked properly. why not call it a mistake? this was a mistake. calling it an error makes it sound like it was not on purpose.

"When inlining is a valid rewrite?" "When constant folding is a valid rewrite?"

Are these valid questions ? structurally speaking ... they seem somehow off, a lot off.

I'm asking because I'm way more bothered by them than I should be.

those are not regexes though, are they ? apart from the [:space:] part
Not a really good idea all by its own.

And who hurt you ?

On topic, this seems like a good showcase of Terraforms' flexibility, and a good side project for the OP.

Tangential, you need to click the (i) and then click the actual url ( although they didn't actually mark it as a hyperlink). Amp is getting more and more frustrating w/ each iteration.
I think you misunderstood the parent comment ( or I misunderstood your reply to that). He talks about about a signature (which is pretty much what it comes down to), not a file hash as in here's a hash of the file contents. That would be meaningless.

As for the reference you provided I know how shazam works, they pretty much made a blog post about it. This is not that. Not by a long shot.

well, that does not seem to be a very constructive answer. mind sharing some info/references on this specific one, or any others ? because I though it's a blackbox type of software
Re:Why has examine.com disappeared from search results? on Tuesday August 13, 2019 @01:02PM (#20687742)
"If you are not familiar with the issues here I can't be that helpful". So you are not familiar either ? Or is that you don't really feel like spending time actually answering the question instead of deflecting ? You do seem to have enough knowledge to dismiss a paper based solely on the "system they operate in"

"The quality of academic institutions and systems varies widely on a nation by nation basis. This is the issue I guess, a site like this and you are claiming no difference between countries."

I made no such claims. What I did however was question your reaction when seeing a romanian academic as the author of a scientific paper and that is all.

"and the issues with academic integrity in China, Africa and yes, Romania are reasonably well known".

Mind sharing some insight on this ? I'm genuinly interested. That seems like a very loose enumeration created strictly to get your point across, not being related in any way other than not being US.

Re:Why we're saying no to Google on Tuesday August 13, 2019 @12:44PM (#20687522)
So, what you are saying is it's fine because russians and north koreans ?! do way worse things... did I get that right ? How is that even contributing to the discussion ?
Re:Why has examine.com disappeared from search results? on Tuesday August 13, 2019 @02:44AM (#20683354)
I think the downvotes might have something to do with your dismissive attitude.

How is the nationality of the lecturer (w/ a diploma) a relevant fact? Why the "... ok" reaction? Was is more credible if the lecturer was based in SF ? Is medicine different if you're not from SF ? Are you automatically bad at everything you do if not from SF? As for the "invented by NASA", i do think they were referring to this:

In 1974, the World Health Organization described spirulina as "an interesting food or super food" for multiple reasons, rich in iron and protein, and is able to be administered to children without any risk," considering it "a very suitable food."[52] The United Nations established the Intergovernmental Institution for the use of Micro-algae Spirulina Against Malnutrition in 2003.[53]

In the late 1980s and early 90s, both NASA (CELSS)[54] and the European Space Agency (MELiSSA)[55] proposed spirulina as one of the primary foods to be cultivated during long-term space missions. ( source: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spirulina_(dietary_supplemen... )
