Ethical or not The idea anyone could possibly pay every author in the world for merely reading their content (computationally or not) is preposterous.

Please don’t bring normie attention to our communities.
This is basically what I need, a router. I’m tired of changing intelligence & speed levels manually.

How do you feel about their trackpad? I think they’re the best on the market.
Re:Statewide fluoride ban for tap water passes in Florida on Wednesday April 30, 2025 @08:29AM (#43844255)
Except the baby’s body of course.
Re:Why conversations are better with four people on Saturday December 14, 2024 @08:39AM (#42417059)
4 people just means 3 people talking and me eating food.
The company that manufactured it is on the label. Oftentimes a Google search will show they’re partnering with Indian manufacturers.

I did microneedling a couple times. If anything my scars are worse. I’d rather just get laser skin treatment in Thailand and save money. Or do the lower % acidic peels myself.
I like the mouse. I have the lightning charger version. But personally I prefer the trackpad, external or built-in.
Re:My Social Anxiety Cheatsheet for Mingling on Wednesday November 13, 2024 @04:24AM (#42124382)
I think eye contact is key. Usually people avoid eye contact with people they don’t want to associate with. I’m not very sociable myself, and in your case I probably would be eating alone on default. But I have found when people match eye contact and have any semblance of similarity in interest it’s not too bad getting along.

Oh my poor hurt (I hate free speech) feelings.
Kill and restart the service. This seems to be the coder solution to everything. We do it for our service as well. The programmer could fix their stuff but alas, that’s too much to ask.
Re:Converted a MacBook into a PC on Monday November 11, 2024 @06:07PM (#42111245)
I like how he has the Apple logo light still working.
Re:Why systemd is a problem for embedded Linux on Sunday November 03, 2024 @10:12PM (#42038086)
I like systemd sometimes. Other times it confuses me. Particularly the way cgroups work. The way splicing works. Why oracle mem usage is still uncontrollable when I set user splice restrictions. Idk, I’m still learning it. I don’t like the terminology it uses sometimes too like “snapshot.” When I first read about systemd snapshot I was like oh cool you can snapshot the system. No. Also some esoteric things it supposedly supports don’t work sometimes. I find the idea of systemd targets and fstab having anything to do with each other anathema. Idk.
Paper ballets please. No passwords needed.
Raising minimum wage just raises unemployment for youth. The real minimum wage is 0.
I wonder when you’ll be able to do mathematics symbols within the AI query box.
Re:M4 MacBook Pro on Wednesday October 30, 2024 @07:35PM (#42001781)
Roopepal did someone piss in your coffee this morning? I had no questions. I’m merely saying that it’s funny they’re comparing to old technology instead of last year’s. It’s a valid criticism. Take a breath.
Re:M4 MacBook Pro on Wednesday October 30, 2024 @07:34PM (#42001772)
I meant pro. My mistake. I was going to maybe upgrade it but it appears m4 isn’t much better.
We use this app all the time. I love it.
Re:M4 MacBook Pro on Wednesday October 30, 2024 @11:41AM (#41996349)
I have an m3 ultra. I don’t think I need to upgrade. I also find it amusing they’re comparing the m4 to the m1 and i7 processors.

I’m not sure if this is the right graph, but I read somewhere, household size has been going down over time, so using household income is a bit misleading actually.

“Just learn to use it bro” constantly breaks Yeah ok.
Re:We Can Terraform the American West on Saturday October 26, 2024 @12:18PM (#41955705)
I’d like to see the Colorado river less used. The author has a lot of good ideas.
Re:SELinux Bypasses on Friday October 25, 2024 @07:02PM (#41950765)
I’ve had that POS SELinux block me from logging directly into the console with root (nothing wrong with the pwd). Thank VMware for snapshots. I hate SELinux. But the job requires it. As for people who seem to love it so much, they probably don’t have to deal with it all the time.
I don’t want to diminish others experiences, because I’m sure they’re just as important as mine. All I can say is anecdotally I haven’t had any issues with disputes…in fact the dispute experience for me has been better than other cards. The app makes it quite simple.
I used to have ATT for a little over ten years. I upgraded many phones with ATT next, etc. The final straw for me was when they said they never got the phone I sent back and billed me 1k or something. I saw the tracking number show it was delivered to a warehouse. Their organization/inventory is a joke.
Re:I'm Peter Roberts who does work for YC and startups. AMA on Friday October 18, 2024 @05:51AM (#41877791)
I remember watching the company I worked for in California lay off Americans and replace them with Indians. For all the talk about “prevailing wage” and “shortage of talent,” I just remember seeing it with my own eyes. One guy worked there till he was in his 60’s, built the company’s entire software, yet was kicked to the curb.
