What? No? What are you saying?

Wow you sound like a nice person
Re:Sand from Different Beaches in the World on Friday March 27, 2026 @03:06PM (#47546902)
I mean if your intent is to view the images carefully and study the details why not click through to the details page and see larger, more detailed photos?
Re:Sand from Different Beaches in the World on Friday March 27, 2026 @03:04PM (#47546892)
If you click into one of the examples they have a photo of a hand holding a sample plus photos of the beach.
There's a high chance the government is attempting to influence public opinion by using botted comments, which is easier than ever to pull off.
We've been manipulating photos as long as we've been taking them.
Re:Figma AI on Wednesday June 26, 2024 @02:35PM (#40803040)
The problem is when other people are getting 'AI suggestions' based on your work. What if you don't own the copyright for the work you're producing (it's for a client)? What if you don't what AI being trained on your data?
Re:Nintendo Switch Emulator: Progress Report December 2023 on Wednesday January 17, 2024 @09:48AM (#39028436)
No.
Re:Cybertruck Launch on Wednesday November 29, 2023 @06:40PM (#38467011)
Maybe see if it's any good first lol
Re:Half-Life 25th Anniversary Update on Friday November 17, 2023 @03:44PM (#38309960)
I'd assume AI would come across as more intelligent.
Re:Half-Life 25th Anniversary Update on Friday November 17, 2023 @03:41PM (#38309893)
Steam is a perfectly fine experience and captchas are the universal standard these days. They lost someone who's 'not really a game person' and wasn't willing to fill in a captcha for a free game, I don't think they're too worried about lost revenue. I highly doubt tracking down and downloading a legit version of the updated Half-Life from a torrent site is an easier option, but you do you.
Re:An Interactive Guide to Flexbox on Wednesday November 23, 2022 @11:47AM (#33721533)
Grid and Flex serve different purposes for layout. Also Grid has many of the same keywords as flex, but is more complex. I wouldn't call it more intuitive.
Re:Ikea Vindriktning Air Quality Sensor Review and Accuracy on Monday December 06, 2021 @02:47PM (#29464634)
What makes it likely when nothing about sex/gender is mentioned? Seems like you're the one that has a gender bias and you're projecting lol
Re:Vercel raises $150M Series D on Tuesday November 23, 2021 @10:23AM (#29318843)
To be fair they jump right to the nuance of why you'd choose them, assuming you know who they are. Coca-Cola's website doesn't tell you what coke is, it talks about experiences/moments..etc. I share your frustration to some extent but I understand their reasoning.
Re:React Aria: A headless UI component library on Friday November 05, 2021 @10:08AM (#29119444)
It gives you complete control over your markup and styling. Headless UI is designed to handle everything except what the components look like.
Sounds like a lot of hassle to me. I'd rather click a button.
Re:Clubhouse Is a Cargo Cult on Friday August 06, 2021 @02:33PM (#28091177)
This is true for literally any social media, Clubhouse is just an easy target given the UI doesn't have to be used for the primary content. I mean Facebook is awful for many reasons and yet you can still get utility out of it. I'm sure Clubhouse is no different. Easy to sit on the sidelines and focus on one aspect of it, though.
Seems like a rather broad statement. As an artist in UI design I disagree and think it's a fantastic meeting point of artistry and engineering.
Because exploiting people is wrong.

Simple =/= Obvious.
Re:Amazon 2020 Letter to Shareholders on Thursday April 15, 2021 @12:32PM (#26822671)
Exactly. This is such an awful take that it makes me think maybe Bezos has time to spend on HN.

Cool! Can't wait until this gets shuttered mid-2022.
Re:EA to buy Dirt Rally-maker Codemasters for £1B on Monday December 14, 2020 @08:57AM (#25417534)
Don't be ridiculous they'll at least change the driver names, totally worth $60.
Re:Jailbreaking Used Teslas on Saturday October 31, 2020 @01:21PM (#24953276)
Owners of photoshop don't get free updates even though they own their computer. Software costs money to develop so saying all updates should be free simply because they already own the hardware doesn't makes any sense.
Re:Sketch: Proud to Build a Truly Native Mac App on Wednesday October 28, 2020 @09:00AM (#24918193)
Sketch keeps design in a silo. Figma is the tool of the future. Design is about problem solving, and designers need to involve non-designers to solve problems.
There's literally a Next.js conf currently running with thousands of viewers
Re:Which colour scheme is better? on Sunday September 27, 2020 @06:35PM (#24610738)
Trying to claim light color schemes are scientifically better based solely on the The Pulfrich effect is absurd. The best color scheme for programming is the one you like and can comfortably look at for extended periods of time. Your eyes are different than mine so trying to claim this is a scientific means of determining the best color scheme is about as useful as you telling me what my favourite color is based on 'science'.
Re:Ways to make a web component on Friday July 17, 2020 @12:06PM (#23872012)
This distills the differences into the simplest possible example, which given the number of examples is incredibly useful.

Also if you're in a React project, yes, you would use it for a counter. Obviously you wouldn't use React for just a counter, but it's a great way to show the basics of working with each option.

Ah yes, the Apple approach. I like it.
