OneDrive, Dropbox etc are not backup tools, they're file sync tools. This really should be common knowledge.

"in your field"? All small businesses and solo enterpreneurs that I know who are hit by this are not "in this field". Their field is making jewelry or knitted toys or something similar. Now many are just not planning to ship EU wide just because it's too high risk for them.

Add new route to API that displays additional information we need, work out query for it, update controllers/models/whatnot.
No need for top model for that.

It was just one off task and I already had agent doing categorising with the same data so I just asked it. Otherwise I agree.
Re:AWS: Inaccurate Estimated Billing Data - $1.7 BILLION
on Friday July 17, 2026 @01:57PM (#48950245)
Because I was already doing categorising and analysing same data with agent and I had my session open already. It should've been an easy task for an agent, right?

Just today I gave my local agent a CSV which listed a bunch files with of human readable size units and asked it to count rows in each GB range. Sounds simple enough but it completely miscalculated, because it parsed MB as GB for some reason. In hindsight it would've be quicker just to do it in Excel or something.

I'm from Europe and never hear indians clumped together with chinese as "asian". When speaking of geography, then yes, but that's about it. It's always "Indian startup", never "Asian startup" for example. Indian food, not Asian food etc. YMMV
Re:Asian AI startups launch Mythos-like models

Are you from UK perhaps? Because UK is the only place I know where "asian" also includes India and Pakistan. Everywhere else India is sort of separate entity and always mentioned separately.

Sure, but Gemini subscription gives you just that - Gemini subscription, but new computer allows you to do other stuff with it as well. When you're upgrading anyway for other reasons then it's not fair to compare full Studio price to just one subscription.

In my experience they require much more hand holding and more specific directions with less possibilities to interpret a command in several ways. You do the planning, keep on eye on that they're producing and they do the legwork. It's not that their knowledge of Java or PHP or what have you is lacking, it's the long horizon planning that you have to do yourself. Technically they're good. You just have to do more thinking and more reviewing yourself. YMMV.

Many-many moons ago I moved my mouse to the left side because I didn't have enough room on my desk on the right side. I became equally good with both hands and this has been paying dividends for years. Except I didn't reverse buttons, my brain just adapted and I never confuse which button to press.

Re:Svelte 5 is not JavaScript
on Tuesday February 18, 2025 @11:15PM (#43098490)
Yes, but not everybody builds the next social network or complex commercial app with 50 pages and 150 forms.
It used to be that svelte was the perfect choice to build simple spa fronts to backend services, there already was react for complex applications. Now we have 2 additional reacts with svelte and vue and no mainstream simple framework for smaller stuff.
Why does everybody feel they need to build eventually the same thing, but slightly different?

Drivers licence as a personal ID is not really a thing in Europe. It's accepted at some places, but either passport or your state provided ID-card is much preferred.

Thank you for working on light theme, it seems that 90% of themes are dark nowadays. Depending on languages I switch between dark and light themes and for the latter there's lot less choice. My brain has gotten used to that Java and R must have light themes, most other languages dark. I even have different color theme for each language. It's how my brain works.
