You might want to consider terminating for Belarus too now that they are invading Ukraine as well.
Re:Why We Banned Legos (2006) on Saturday February 19, 2022 @05:10AM (#30395887)

gazelle-kopen.nl

Would have expected this could rake in some SEO traffic though, but surprised that didnt work for you. Or maybe surprised isnt the right word, maybe i have the initial high hope for it when you registered it and tried it :)

techcrunch leading me through 'https://guce.advertising.com' when i open links or their site directly... weird
I merely tried to remind the comment poster of the option that there could easily be other causes for his observations of the people has has known. And i can't see why you would instantly label this is discrediting.

Dear friend of mine, who i used to smoke with developed psychosis. So i know consuming cannabis can have negative effects. Cannabis has many compounds, and many studies show some of them have good properties others maybe bad properties. Some science says they cause mental issues other science and study show the opposite.

Again i just find the 'cant do math in head again' a weird statement or things to directly relate to smoking weed. There are plenty of people i know that have never smoked weed and can't do head math as well as they could when they were in high school.

Also to refer to your statement about weed & schizofrenia, there is plenty of research done, but nothing conclusive. e.g. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32839678/

Anything can be harmful, if you use/eat/drink/smoke it enough. And surely not everybody just smokes weed because they 'like being stoned' as you write. Sure does not count for me.

I stopped cold turkey smoking weed daily after 25 years, i can tell you from personal experience this does not apply to everybody.

It also seems rather strange to take one property of their lives and use it to explain their in your eyes loss of abilities. Not doing something for a long time also has this effect, so perhaps they for many years didnt need to do calculations in their head, or use their high school french and so on.

If you said you knew a twin, and one of them smoked weed daily and they had identical lives, and one of them lost cognitive abilities and the other didnt, i would be more likely to give your reply any credit.

Re:Why infrastructure engineers prefer MySQL on Tuesday January 18, 2022 @05:34AM (#29977288)
I fully agree, but i slightly prefer postgresql over mysql due to their licensing
"The service was acquired by video conferencing software maker Zoom in May 2020."

thats when i revoked all my keybase information.

Nice overview, bookmarked. Only thing i could say is missing are some graphs :)
Re:Show HN: I made a tool to improve Mission Control on macOS on Tuesday December 21, 2021 @03:42PM (#29641870)
I can imagine people using mission control this is nice, but personally i never used mission control and i wonder if i'm missing a particular reason?
Re:Sublime Text 4 (Build 4126) on Tuesday December 21, 2021 @03:36PM (#29641804)
Or projects with a ton of files. I had such issues on ST3 i tried a bunch of others and now i wont even consider paying for or trying an ST4 upgrade.

Als i sometimes still accidentally start ST3 and i cant seem to disable the update check? I have tried a bunch of google answers but it still pops up, anybody else had/has this?

So how does this change "Possession Is Nine-Tenths of the Law" :) five-tenths? :)
Without the apps they will track you too, no worries.
Re:CronRAT malware hides behind February 31st on Sunday November 28, 2021 @02:57PM (#29372332)
In which year does February have 31 days?
"internal issues"

Bit more details would have been nice. Now i fear of poorly assuming they made internal network ipv6 too?

There is no mentioning of NFC, not here, not there? I like NFC for payments and things?
Re:Beta users of Starlink get downloads of 11 to 60 Mbps on Friday August 14, 2020 @02:48PM (#24161728)
Weren't they also going to track airplanes with it, to avoid new mh-370 cases where they don't know where it went and where it crashed?
I would recommend webrtc too, its going to be a future for video stuff for a while in browsers and so on.
Re:A Keyboard with Blank Keycaps Made Me an Expert Typist on Wednesday August 12, 2020 @03:42PM (#24135954)
Did you learn it on a old mechanical typewriter?

People at my school used to do that. I did not care about carrying that X kg suitcase with me every Friday to school. Being already active on irc already at young age, at some point i got so annoyed of typing so slow and while typing missing what was being written on screen by others, i simply forced myself to look at the screen and type. Progress happened quite fast and that was most encouraging to keep going.

But 90-110 words per minute, that's blazing fast. Think i'm stuck at about 60 words per minute (https://typing-speed.net/keystrokes-per-minute)

Wouldn't everybody notice their battery draining? The article doesn't mention this.
I start every git commit with "Should ..." :-)
Re:Pi-hole 5.0 on Monday May 11, 2020 @04:54AM (#23140137)
Neat app, not using it though due to lack of quality control in the blocklists. Are there any changes yet to the quality control of the blocklists used, or is the author still copying lists from the internet without scrutiny?
Just from the start already i dont get a scientific feeling.

"In just 3 weeks from the beginning of the outbreak, the virus has reached more than 10.000 infected people."

Does this mean only tested 10.000 people? Reads a bit odd though too, i assume they were not infected already when the virus reached them?

"From our data, about 10% of patients require ICU (Intensive Care Unit) or sub ICU assistance and about 5% of patients die."

Is this from 10% of the people actually going to the hospital, or 10% of all tested, or 10% of all people that got the virus?

ah i was hoping it was for osx too :) been reading my ISPs apology for not support safari now for 2 years i think... they only do silverlight streaming
Re:Ask HN: How do I learn C properly? on Sunday March 08, 2020 @03:48PM (#22520107)
Besides all that is mentioned already to read or do. I would suggest to try writing something you coded in python or go previously in C.
