I was just trying to integrate with my banks this past weekend because of this, with no luck. I was pointed at OFX (Open Financial Exchange) as an integration method, but it seems banks have since moved on from that to FDX (Financial Data Exchange). But FDX seems to be under maintenance and individuals can't register? Is this the right method to integrate with your personal accounts to get transaction information or do you need to use a service like plaid?
Fiction
- Recursion
- Red Rising (on book 2 now and I assume I'll want to re-read it)
- Ender's Game series (I've read some of them multiple times)
- The Martian (I've read multiple times)
- An Absolutely Remarkable Thing (series)
Non-ficton
- The Model Thinker (super dense, I'll need multiple re-reads)
- Chief Joy Officer
- Work Clean
- Outlive
I'd like to be more deliberate in what I choose to do. Part of this goes with the old saying of "eat the frog first". I want to stop doing the quick and easy thing and do the thing that i'm constantly thinking about. Usually I think: if I just knock out these quick things, I'll have more space to think through the hard problem. But the quick and easy things don't stop coming.
You know what's best for you
Align yourself with a project that's important to the business.
That's the beauty of the internet, you're bound to find things you don't like that others have the exact opposite experience with. I find them extremely relatable, fun, and knowledgeable.
Developer Tea has been a great listen. Thanks for your contributions!
It's all I do. It's the only way I can understand if my next comment will offend or work as a joke or if I'm posing an interesting topic. It's what makes conversations so draining to an introvert I feel. The more people, the more I have to figure out what I can say to be ok with the group at hand.
How do you identify one capable to teach CS, capable to teach ages K-12, and willing to work for very little pay? Is the goal to train existing teachers (would they make more money because of it?), or hire a CS veteran to teach?
Pluralsight has been my favorite training platform for some time now, luckily my company bought my subscription. Speed controls on video (typically do 1.5-2x speed) and ability to download a series to your mobile device. I like all the instructors I've come across.
Your reference to "faith in anything" is most likely referring to a central being controlling everything (see: god), as faith in something/anyone doesn't give that something meaning. Nihilism doesn't necessary refer to faith, it's typically referring to existential nihilism, or that nothing has an intrinsic meaning. Nothing comes with meaning. This isn't something to despair, you have full ability to give things meaning. What I'm getting at is more in the realm of optimistic nihilism, or that ability to give your own meaning to things, as they didn't have any intrinsic meaning to begin with. That game you're playing? Some might think of it as a waste but you gave it the meaning of happiness. That flower you're smelling didn't come with meaning by default, but you gave it the meaning of beauty. I would argue faith can be a burden more than nihilism as blind faith can lead to complacency. Again, complacency might not be the worst thing until you give that meaning.
I think the author had a little over-the-top reaction of "it’s time to unplug everything, chuck my phone, don a tinfoil hat, and move to the woods." The buzzing and computer-created audio was immediately noticed. I also consider myself very good at noticing sound differences, but I think that's beside the point in this case.
It seems it doesn't really refer to their announcement being public or private, but rather what they have to submit in financial statements. They have much looser guidelines, so they don't have to disclose/document as much. They can be more "confidential" about what they submit, and that data is not released to the public until a much later date. This is how I understand it.
I had the same issue with the XPS 15 9550, but they replaced it out of warranty.
So if Alzheimer's is the degeneration of brain cells leading to memory loss and breakdown of other mental functions, and sleep is typically touted as a way to consolidate memories, does sleep aid in the process of repairing/healing cells in the brain? Does the lack of consolidation of memory (lack of sleep) lead to some kind of disjointed collection of neurons, leading to a condition such as Alzheimer's?
I also see this. It asked for I think 4 separate permissions that you could allow or deny.
It's so true. The entertainment/consumer shopping industries seems to have surpassed banks/governments in availability. It's also pretty ridiculous knowing that some of these companies are tasked with keeping our data/money safe, and yet they still don't allow extremely complex passwords.
I use pocket for storing everything. It's cross-browser and device so you can easily sync offline to your tablet/phone to read on a plane.

Web programming job for a college. I'm at my 3rd one right now and it remains consistent that it is definitely a less stressful environment where you have a lot of free time to research whatever you want. The tasks received are pretty straightforward and you can get them done with time to spare working on your own side projects.
I'm somewhat lucky that my current boss tells me to work on my own products to allow me to continue learning in my free time.
Everything really depends on what you're looking to do I guess. I'm currently in transition, looking for more of a security/networking role, so where I'm at isn't quite doing it for me, but I'm not complaining as I can spend my time refining my skills.
I guess this would be the place to say: the grass is always greener...
I think you'll find that ubuntu will have plenty of driver support and will work on almost any piece of hardware. If you want to get more familiar with other distro's I'd recommend virtualizing them first (vmware, virtualbox, etc).
If you're interested in a machine tailored to ubuntu, a quick search brings me here:

It's actually really fun. I think the end all greatness of this would be if I could play minecraft, and enter an arena, and start playing this. (guy can dream)
I love the jump height...do not change that.
Powerups might be cool, but not necessarily required.
I definitely like the theme of what you wish to work on (helping people). I myself would like to work on a project like your Friend Finder (really anything to create interactions between people), as I'm always trying to find like-minded people nearby. I have ideas if you ever wish to team up.
'proffesional' spelled wrong on the front page under number 1, fyi
I'd like to get a hold of you with some different ideas for that app, or possibly a different app altogether. Do you have an email I could send ideas to?
South Carolina, email if anyone wants to meet up
Where's the Sikuli script? :)
