Re:Vibecoding isn't as fun as writing code by hand on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @11:16AM (#49979785)
It feels to me like what I imagine it world be to transition from developer to a development manager. I like getting the product but the enjoyment of solving the challenges is missing
Re:When oil prices spike, where does the money go? on Wednesday September 30, 2026 @11:00PM (#49917200)
Why would the money go anywhere other than the same place it went when the price was lower?
Differentiation from each other or from competitor projects?
and if we’re gonna start worrying about how much a building raises the nearby temperatures, let’s also start looking at whether or not buildings are using dark or light colored roofing

Re:US Bill Mandates On-Device Age Verification on Friday April 17, 2026 @08:05AM (#47804991)
Not a mandate at this point. The bill was only introduced on April 13th.
I thought the use case would be for cyclists to alert runners with NC headphones that the cyclist is about to pass them
Re:The AI coding divide: craft lovers vs. result chasers on Thursday March 12, 2026 @10:05PM (#47359864)
There’s a similar divide in the woodworking community between people that use CNC and the like to mill and shape wood vs those that use hand and power tools.

Re:Show HN: A "Course" as an MCP Server on Tuesday June 10, 2025 @07:16PM (#44242555)

Only the people that have been there have seen it. Why should experiences not be repeatable? Humanity doesn’t share a to-do list; you doing something doesn’t give me those experiences. If you want to pivot to the wear-and-tear or how people aren’t adhering to leave-no-trace that’s fine but a different argument
Re:I can't understand Apple's Critical Alert policy on Thursday May 08, 2025 @05:37PM (#43931615)
Nah it’s for apps like those that monitor a user’s continuous glucose meter. In addition to simple monitoring they alert the user when the reading is on the extreme ends of a safety range. The app for Abbott’s Freestyle Libre requires the setting to be enabled and will not allow the use of the app without it enabled. I suspect that’s what Apple means in their rejection. I can turn it off but the app won’t work without it.

And who’s going to use your payment service when they can’t buy anything because AI took their job?
I assume that the notion of adulterated honey is new to you and that you’re not in the industry. This has been an issue for decades, it’s nothing new. There are commercial honey producers and packers that are clean but the easiest and surest way to avoid fake honey is to buy local.
