That's how it would work - they airlines would have to cut service. By filling up seats with lower fares, it allows the whole route to be profitable. This helps more flights to occur serving more places.

Emotional reason: better to be a poor master than a rich slave.

Pragmatic reason: I'd like to see American workers get American wages.

Long Term reason: We need the ability to manufacture critical things at all times.

I've done this for vacations: Put in 50K into a mutual fund, and every year we use 5% of it for a guilt-free vacation.

OS-9 was a gateway for a lot of good developers. Constrained (8/16-Bit) enough to make you think but having a lot of the tools and ideas from mainframe/Unix world.

TLDR:

DHH doesn't make kilo-millions so his ideas suck.

Children should not be exposed to sexual material at an early developmental age. That's sexual child abuse.

'Conbini' is a loan word from English meaning 'convenience store.' Please forgive the originators of the word for spelling it so they can understand as Convenience starts with the letter 'c.'
ADA law in the US financially prohibit this. Once you need an elevator, the costs go though the roof for the building. Elevator design, installation, inspection and repair are incredibly expensive and eat up a lot of square footage on every floor.
Re:10% of Cubans have left Cuba in the last year on Saturday July 20, 2024 @04:27PM (#41019540)
Cuban-Americans telling us what Cuba is like sounds ok to me. From what I've heard, they hate Socialists.
German birth rates have declined. The populations that are colonizing Germany are having significantly more children.

Pat's income from his mega church and gifts in kind are taxable.

I'm not saying he's a good person, but he has personal income just like the rest of us. The odd clergy exemptions to the personal income tax are not that large: https://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc417

Re:Austria to 'Super-Speeders': We're Taking Your Car on Wednesday June 19, 2024 @08:53PM (#40733842)
Don't matter, as police officers migrate to places that don't hate them.

The Democrat stronghold cities have less police now than three years ago.

Re:Austria to 'Super-Speeders': We're Taking Your Car on Wednesday June 19, 2024 @08:52PM (#40733835)
Seattle sure did. And it sucks.

We lost 70% of the officers to other jurisdictions that don't hate them.

If we're just a particular configuration, that configuration will have to exist again with infinite time and infinite universes.

If that holds, then it would be well to align ourselves such that we have a better chance to awake in a good place rather than a bad place.

Careful with "Threads" - I've heard from normally stout people that it sent them into a funk because it was rather traumatic.
Rage farmer. It's sucks how well it works. Basically, we have AI personas with one side always over-reaching and looking slightly stupid. This is to bolster the side we think is correct.

Works really well and we're swaying the opinion of a rather local community.

Re:Bossware is a big legal risk on Wednesday May 15, 2024 @06:24PM (#40373161)
Perhaps during the video they discovered that they didn't like you.
Ai assisted rage farming is something I'm part of and it scares the crap out of me. Nothing gets attention like opposite AI personalities raging against each other.
Re:Google Cloud accidentally deletes customer's account on Thursday May 09, 2024 @06:24PM (#40313545)
We provide IT support for small businesses, and it's almost impossible for them to understand that their 'cloud' data isn't backed up.

It takes a lot of education combined with making the backups not cost too much.

Re:Tesla took down all its open U.S. job postings on Wednesday May 08, 2024 @02:55PM (#40301668)
The company is profitable, huge, growing, and has a product people want. Their products have a lot of commonalty and long production times.

There's no other electric car that will be as well supported as well going forward.

The article said you should stick with what you know and are productive with. For you, the article recommends Django as your first choice.

With one huge exception to communism: the shelves are stocked.
That makes sense. Have your horrid website be parsed by an AI that outputs boring HTML for screen readers.
You need to be able to pass left-lane campers on the right now and then.
I'm noting who signed the poison letter and never associating with them.

They're a liability.

Zaps shop floor and the exterior of the equipment doesn't need clean room conditions. Inside the chamber, they do a good job after a teardown, but even then it gets contaminated really quickly with the tiny amount of fusion byproducts.

They are working on a liquid metal container to help with keeping things clean, but frankly in my opinion its just something to keep investors away from asking why there's no possible roadmap to net-energy production.

Q: When are you going to be able to make energy? A: Good question! Have you seen our new animation... liquid metal!!!!1! it's awesome!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gswKKY1p2ps

Basically, this is just a fancy version of a 1950's z-pinch experiment that works slightly better by stabilizing the pinch. Heck, the setup they have currently working is a rehash of the 40 year-old equipment they moved from the University of Washington.

They just made it work slightly better enough to keep Zap on the seed-round investor gravy train.

Z-pinch/Zap is so far away from break even it's not even funny, and they're nowhere near close to capturing enough energy from high-energy neutrons to even power itself. Basically right now it's a 99.99% useful energy loss in their whole system.

And it will stay that way. Just need to keep making pretty photos to keep the investors ignorant.

Notice how they polished the fuck out of all their equipment? Make it shiny.
