Re:ICJ Orders Israel to Prevent Genocide Without Cease-Fire on Friday January 26, 2024 @08:14PM (#39151265)
> We are not committing any genocide.

Fine. You are ethnic cleansing the palestinians from their land. Happy?

> Yes there is collateral damage because Hamas uses civilians as human shields

There are mountains of evidence of people like you murdering unarmed palestinian men, women and children.

> Please support us and help rid the world of violent terrorism, and maybe one day, we can all live in peace.

No. The world needs to end the ethnic cleansing of the palestinians and return palestine to their rightful owners.

That someone like you would come to this forum to beg for support is beyond insulting and outrageous. You are fundamentally no different from the nazis you whine about. And like the nazis you should be destroyed.

> First commies are famous for destroying big ecosystems.

Commies can't hold a candle to the non-commies when it comes to destroying big ecosystems though. The soviets nor the chinese can hold a candle to the US or europe when it comes to ecosystem destruction.

> Now, building a huge amount of solar panel capacity might prove to be highly profitable energy production but it may also not.

It's probably not as the chinese will have to replace all the solar panels in a decade or so. Unless all this investment leads to a major technological breakthrough the chinese are wasting money. Considering neither the US, Europe or Japan is putting much emphasis on solar energy, I doubt the chinese can achieve any technological breakthrough to justify their investment.

Then I guess the extermination of the wolverines, passenger pigeons, american eagle, american buffalo, etc exemplifies what? The evils of capitalism? The evils of democracy? Not to mention the extermination of the native americans...

What's with all the deranged and obvious propaganda here? Your 'kid' really couldn't sleep for 2 night or did you make it up to push silly propaganda?

> That means having to sell approx 45 packs of cigarettes smuggled up from Georgia per day just to pay rent.

It's the goods morons buy along with the cigarettes that is the real money maker. Like overpriced soda, chips, tiny bottles of liquors, etc. As long as it gets the foot traffic, making money shouldn't be a problem. Or it could be a money laundering operation.

Don't fret. I hear nuclear fusion ( clean energy for everyone ) is just around corner.

Whatever happened to graphene? It was what everyone was talking about and then nothing.

Re: on Monday January 22, 2024 @05:34PM (#39096491)
What about the self-proclaimed beacon of freedom and democracy? Are we taking action against an active genocide? If not surely europe, pretender of civility and lover of human rights, much be taking action.

Edit: Response to comment.

> Honest question: How do we know that this is genocide?

If it was an honest question, you wouldn't have prefaced it with 'Honest question'. Also, the downvote brigading also doesn't help.

We know it's a genocide because 'israel' is a european settler colony created by europeans explicitly to 'eliminate' the palestinians and displace them with europeans. It's no different than the settler colonies that was the US, Canada, Australia, etc.

It's literally europeans killing and displacing semites in palestine. Europeans pretending to be semites are literally wiping out actual semites. It's beyond bizarre when you think about it.

> Singapore developed during a time where US-China relations were friendly.

There was never a time when US-China relations were friendly. You sound like the morons that believed US-Russia relations were friendly because Bush said he looked into Putin's eyes and saw a good man.

> The current animosity is recent (post 2015) and previous animosities are pre-Singapore independence

More moronic nonsense. The 'current animosity' dates back to obama's administration ( pre-2015 and post singapore independence ) when the state decided to focus on containing china. I know you are a moron that knows nothing, but Trump just piggybacked on obama's policy.

2009 - Obama pivots to asia to confront china.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Asian_foreign_policy_of_t...

2001 - Downing of american spy plane over china

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hainan_Island_incident

1999 - Bombing of chinese embassy by the US.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_bombing_of_the_C...

As I said, why do morons like you comment authoritatively when you know absolutely nothing?

> At least Musk's core business isn't spyware.

Tesla, Starlink, Solar, etc are all spyware. I guess SpaceX isn't quite spyware but it most definitely is a state sponsored company.

Tesla has traded like it is google 2.0 for the past decade or so. I don't think investors are enamored with tesla cars necessarily.

It's old news here. From April 2018...

The concept of truth has always been fuzzy when it comes to politics. When was there are stable time for the concept of truth in politics? The entire political system of ads, media, speeches, etc are full of misrepresentations, outright lies or lies by omission.

I guess washingtonpost is upset because historically it was the job of washingtonpost, foxnews, msnbc, nytimes, etc to destabilize the concept of truth. But they shouldn't fret. They should view AI as a tool rather a competitor.

Re:Haier Europe Eases Off on Legal Threat and Seeks Dialogue on Monday January 22, 2024 @02:06PM (#39093837)
Is it wild though? The anti-china shills ( paid and unpaid ) have been vocal for a few years now. Almost any thread having anything remotely to do with china has them.
Shouldn't it be the other way around: 'Earliest Alaska hunting camps tied to woolly mammoth movements'?

The article itself states that the camps were set to capitalize on the mammoth movements - 'It looks like these early people were establishing hunting camps in areas that were frequented by mammoths.'

> Learn how to read context before sperging out lol.

I did. That's why I quoted your entire comment in my response : "Animus between China and US is a recent thing, like post 2015."

> Nixon visited China just a few years after Singapore became independent.

You mean the anti-china warhawk nixon who made his name railing against china in the 50s and 60s? Are you talking about that nixon?

> Post 2015 is when animosity starts and now US is encouraging divestment from China.

Except US investment in china INCREASED under trump... Also how stupid do you have to be to bring nixon into this and claim the animus started post 2015?

I would be shocked if this 'study' wasn't funded by the vitamin industry.
> Eating more and exercising more (and the energy required to keep your core temperature up) might kill you faster, maybe through free radical production from metabolism.

There's a theory that it's actually heartbeats. Most animals have about 1.5 billion heartbeats.

"The reason an elephant lives longer than a shrew is not because its heart beats longer. It's because its heart beats slower. So it takes a few more years for the elephant to complete his or her up to one and a half billion beats."

No. Unix, C, C++, etc were in nj.

> What they take has been proven to be far greater value than what they gave. It isn't a fair "trade", at all.

Sure it is. As long as it wasn't coerced.

> To be fair to China, corrupt locals allowed it to happen.

I have a feeling that any trade with china or anything that helps poor countries progress is 'corrupt' to you. But then again, you push so much ant-china shilling, I recognize you just from your username.

If china is taking so much for so little, why isn't europe or the US swooping in and offering a better deal? Perhpas because china is giving them the best deal?

Re:Lee Kuan Yew on Malta on Sunday January 21, 2024 @08:04PM (#39084844)
> Animus between China and US is a recent thing, like post 2015.

Are people this dumb and ignorant? Animus between China and the US dates back centuries to the opium wars of the early 1800s. And animus between China and the US has been the norm ever since. Your comment was flat earthers stupid. Crack open a history before commenting.

Re:Lee Kuan Yew on Malta on Saturday January 20, 2024 @08:50PM (#39074667)
> Geography was pretty much the only thing we had going for us.

Geography is important but so was singapore's chinese connections. Singapore's rise is tied to china's opening and economic rise. Singapore and Hong kong's ability to leverage their chinese ties and serve as imtermediaries between china and their colonial masters allowed them to get wealthy. The singaporean leadership was able to win the trust of the chinese and their 'former' colonial masters. Given the animus between China and the US, it was quite the achievement.

> I guess the US compassion for Berliners did have limits after all.

I think the indiscriminate firebombing and targeting of german civilians in ww2 showed there is no such thing as 'US compassion'. It was calculated propaganda.

The US is wealthier than Japan and Germany combined. With room to spare.

vs

> "Here, take a 'free' hydrodam on your river and we will just take some land and electricity."

So which is it? They will 'take it' or they will trade for it?

That's the problem with anti-chinese propaganda. It makes no sense and is full of contradictions.
