Except that this isn't sports and they tell us that all humans will die if they continue like they do.
If their scare was honest, they would stop.

What would be a way to solve these harassment issues?

Nice cherry you picked there. If you would leave a meaningful comment, I would be happy to talk.
I stand by my words. Her videos are full of lies. They are on a Columbine or Jack Thomson level of "objectivity". Someone please prove me wrong about Hitman otherwise.

Sorry for trying to help?! I did not realise that offering advice from personal experience of receiving online death threats (and what I thought was common professional advice from police and law enforcement) was sexist. No more sympathy from me.

Aren't most kindergarden workers female? Would there be no law enforcement if the president was female? I do not see any hint of the sexism you describe here.

You can't take one anecdote and extrapolate from that.

No vote manipulation but you used another new account 'RainSunshine' to talk sugar about yourself? That was a dumb move.

I would be all over this for hobby projects if it was FOSS. Does someone know similar alternatives?

There are users here who do some really fine commenting. But they got "deaded" for one reason or another. I would love to see buzzfeed and similar sites punished for their wrongdoings even if sometimes they might provide something good. The worse clearly overweighs the good to me.

It's basically a huge collection of documents, mostly scientific with a FOSS codebase for serving. It comes with metadata. It is mirrored a lot thanks to bring completely open. It originated in Russia and has had quite the history. It is a great step into the direction how documents (especially scientific) should be available to anyone in bulk without restrictions.

I would guess that they do it similarly to private trackers. Each user gets a unique and secret ID which is transmitted when announcing. The tracker then decides if the user is allowed to get the swarm details.

It's not your/my/our job to wonder what resources might be needed to keep it running. If you build a service like this, you should have a user-friendly exit plan.
At the very least they could be open and honest about what is going on instead of pulling a "thanks for being part of this incredible journey, we've had our fun so now we will let you stand in the rain".

Two weeks notice before a service that was meant to help "privately remember your memorable days" deleted all of those memories? Time to find out who runs this and never trust them with anything again.
Two weeks is laughably short and disrespectful to your users. If at least they were open about the issue that forces them to shutdown, maybe users would be able to help out by donating to keep it online for longer? Shit like this makes me hate startup culture.

Something like this already happens all the time if programs steal focus. I have no idea.how often I've been happily typing only to have some dialog pop-up and accept my newline Enter as confirmation for whatever it wanted. Things are better now that I switched to Linux and enabled all the prevention but it still happens every now and then. Sometimes I end up writing my passwords in a thieving application

That's not what I said. I actually use my phone less as I found the apps and data I "need". Google is forcing software updates (silently even!) that leech away significant amounts of space away from me.
