Re:The L in "LLM" Stands for Lying on Thursday March 05, 2026 @08:23AM (#47261292)
I don't think I agree with this take.

I love procedural generation, and there is definitely a craft to it. Creating a process that generates a playable level or world is just very interesting to explore as an emergent system. I don't think LLMs will make these system more interesting by default. Of course there are still things to explore in this new space.

It's similar to generative/plotter art compared to a midjourney piece of slop. The craft that goes into creating the code for the plotter is what makes it interesting.

Might have missed this in the paper, but this is also the main reason some pilsner glasses are extremely basic. When the beer is warm, you drank it too slowly. A boerke (BE) or vaasje (NL) is an example: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaasje

There's a large crossover between magic players and software developers, so there are a huge amount of great tools. The ones I currently use are:

- https://cubecobra.com for inspiration. There are draftbots but they are not very good. - https://draftmancer.com the ideal way to draft online or against bots

Our app crashed by simply changing an environment variable. Was searching for over 45 minutes without finding anything.
> This huge investment seems like a bit of a leap of faith considering the company doesn’t have regulatory approval to produce and sell cultivated meat anywhere

Does this happen more often? There are so many challenges for this technology and almost nobody has ever tasted it, and here we go building a huge factory.

I really love the idea, but I'm still pretty sceptic (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=28621288) about it being realistic. Sometimes I feel most of these companies are just there to burn venture capital and make bold promises, and there are _many_ of them.

I'll believe it after I tried it for a reasonable price.

These claims sounds very bold to me, especially considering THL spends 1/3 of their budget targeting individuals to consider a plant based diet. If you want to keep eating meat it feels questionable at best to donate to an organization like this.

However, if you look at the comprehensive review of the Animal Charity Evaluators, they claim that for every dollar spent in corporate outreach, they save -10 to 40 (!) animals. The source mentions something about "proportional welfare improvements" which might skew the numbers, but even then this seems insanely high. Don't get me wrong, I believe changing how corporations handle animals will have a way bigger impact than an individual going vegan, but i don't see how saying "this chicken has a 300% better life, so we saved 3 chickens" helps. Or something like that, because I can't find the real method used here. This seems like creative juggling with numbers.

And the great thing is Bialetti sells these parts for pretty cheap: https://www.bialetti.com/us_en/accessories/spare-parts.html

I love that products and companies like these still exist, sad indeed that they have such a hard time to survive.

There is a simple solution to this: buy it local. It might solve all issues with the meat (how do they feed these animals, etc.) but you at least know where it comes from.

I know it's not possible for everyone, but there is currently a big surge in local farm shops. I'm lucky enough to have a farming cooperative in my town where i can order weekly food from local farms and shops. I eat mostly vegetarian, but it's nice to have an option for some decent meat once in a while.

Impossible burger is still created from plants. "Clean" or lab grown meat isn't commercially available anywhere, it only exists is some labs AFAIK. It's sadly very expensive to make today.

There are a few startups working on this, Mosa meat and meatable are some examples.

The project is open source, the github link is on the same page. It's build with Preact, a small react alternative.
Re:The Deliberate Awfulness of Social Media on Thursday September 20, 2018 @05:19AM (#18030862)
Twitter can be and is used for way more than just spamming bad opinions. There is a lot of subcultures active on twitter because of the vapid manner of content sharing. Small artists, game developers, etc.. posts loads of drawings, artworks, screenshots and gifs to show of their works. It's actually really nice to create a good feed of people who create stuff you like and love.

I think this is the superior way to use twitter. Just stay away of all the politics and meme bots.

Out of curiosity, why do you think it's tragic? Aren't these fuels used for experimentation with sustainable energy?

Yeah, i feel you. I had the same problem in the beginning, but the promoting mostly stops after the 10000 feet overview videos.

However, He likes to ramble on about stuff not so relevant to the course, so setting your player speed to 1.5x is a good tip.
