Sounds like they're not adopting an English accent as much as they're adopting a Hugh Grant awkward persona.

There used to be barriers to entry into tech - eg no internet, no github - you had to trawl the newsagents for magazines, buy them, spend your weekend typing out code listings, then debugging all the misprints. Enthusiasts only. Nowadays, tech is just another job, non-enthusiasts welcome. University quality varies considerably, and many degrees cater to the just-another-job crowd - the degree is really just a java degree, minimum required get-a-job skills.

What an absurd statement - everything he's done is to make twitter profitable and viable as a business - reduced headcount, reduced systems, reduced perks, .... He was already high profile in numerous spheres so no amplification was required. It's obvious that you don't share his viewpoints, and so you're simply slinging mud. It's the opinion of many that Musk didn't even want twitter, as a megaphone or otherwise, that he screwed up, obligating himself, and now has to make a successful business of it.

If gay people are choosing to become catholic priests, a decision requiring bizarre cognitive contortions, then I have to consider your argument.

Becoming a catholic priest because you want to be celibate is like becoming an astronaut because you like freeze dried food. Worse if you're gay because you putting yourself among a bunch of sex-starved men.

Why would a gay person choose to become a catholic priest? That's like a short person who has no interest in basketball choosing to be a professional basket ball player.

"Africa time" was prevalent when I lived there. I also saw recently that critical race theory considers being on time to be characteristic of white supremacy, but I know nothing of CRT so I'm not getting into a discussion on that; just seemed a connection.
