Re:Notice How Old websites look better than new websites on Tuesday November 03, 2026 @11:48AM (#50354371)
This is not even the modern web generally but the abstracted one where everything is rendered trough multiple cycles of JavaScript.
Re:OccupySaaS on Monday November 02, 2026 @08:15AM (#50336428)
Not implying anything else than what I've said. Good if it works for you, nothing against using AI
Re:OccupySaaS on Monday November 02, 2026 @05:16AM (#50335007)
Fever dreams can feel very real
Re:Ask HN: Which TV do you recommend for privacy? on Monday November 02, 2026 @05:12AM (#50334978)
Maybe not buy the effectively most notoriously brand and push their sales
Re:Some Thing is Happening A note from the AI companies on Saturday October 31, 2026 @06:20AM (#50314649)
We have calculators that work 99.99% of the time. I am not sure of it makes sense to settle for 90% just because we could.
Tesla is pretty much non existent anymore in Switzerland, where it was really really huge no 5 years ago.
I never bought a car newer than 15 years
It's still horrible software
Re:Switzerland. Block by block. At 1:1 scale on Monday October 26, 2026 @05:35AM (#50241275)
That's the actual data it contains houses and structures
It shows things that are easily half a day walking for me and only the most obvious things (which likely is due to Wikipedia itself)
Thanks to netflix, YouTube and everything else in that spectrum the world had a choice to NOT watch heavily americanized weirdly moralized movies and series and now prefers to not do so.

American media dying is a natural effect that was ongoing even before AI

You haven't tried Austrian TV then.

But honestly I think most localized TV experiences are awkward. Switzerland barely is tho, that's clean and boring in a way but rarely awkward.

Was the post created by AI as well or are _we_ already this deep into psychosis?
Re:An ad-free Android TV on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @08:19AM (#50179665)
If you just run android anyway I got a very cheap xiaomi one that grants me basically all the permissions I needed so far via ADB
Re:Does Ruby on Rails still make sense? on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @08:10AM (#50179562)
On the other side I as the one checking the messy code my AI produces still prefer a highly readable code over something more "complicated" I would argue it's easier to catch bullshit even.
Re:The DNS Museum on Monday October 19, 2026 @05:48PM (#50158539)
Makes it even more important to put on a more unique design. Not fancy, just not the most default design any coding AI would create. I am sure many people instantly click away when they see that as well.
Re:The Photoshop clone that hurts GIMP on Monday October 19, 2026 @05:42PM (#50158467)
Yeah and that's absolutely fair. Really cool that we have different tastes and the world is colorful after all
But who would want that?
Re:The Photoshop clone that hurts GIMP on Monday October 19, 2026 @06:47AM (#50150769)
I didn't ask you, nobody asked me either. But I do think the UI of Photoshop is horrible and gimp is very easy and clean product I like to use that hasn't drastically changed 3 times since I learned using it.
Re:The DNS Museum on Monday October 19, 2026 @06:31AM (#50150660)
It looks very very vibe coded. Maybe try a different design approach, the idea generally sounds interesting
Really curious to see how this will benefit AAA game makers and hurt indie Devs in near future. I have serious doubts that these billion dollar companies will just eat up such rules.
Some countries have healthy ground water I guess
Definitely the most American solution to this problem
Re:Gold is now the top U.S. export on Sunday October 18, 2026 @03:55AM (#50138919)
So it's in fact a bigger business. Why do Americans always make up weird comparison methods when it looks bad for them?
Re:Gold is now the top U.S. export on Sunday October 18, 2026 @03:42AM (#50138841)
Swiss here. People literally sold it to us and bring it here for safety. No stealing as far as I know.
Re:Gold is now the top U.S. export on Sunday October 18, 2026 @03:39AM (#50138835)
To be fair we are in some kind of quiet cold war since nearly all of Europe has to work against and around trumps sanctions and build up independence ASAP which makes orange man even more angry.
Re:Gold is now the top U.S. export on Sunday October 18, 2026 @03:31AM (#50138801)
What makes you think they are are worse financial positions? Propaganda around here makes it sound the US is very close to collapsing
Re:Tesla Roadster on Saturday October 17, 2026 @10:35AM (#50131562)
How is that impressive as a demo? It would be impressive if it's actually a working, mass producible car, but in terms of an demo it's obviously something that is possible in today's world ..
Re:/dev/null: social network for developers on Saturday October 17, 2026 @06:16AM (#50129672)
GitHub? You mean that complete, usually offliney, mess Microsoft dig a grave for? Not sure if that's a good idea in 2026
Re:Neckbeard – a DevOps/platform/SRE plugin for your agent on Friday October 16, 2026 @06:19AM (#50116561)
Can't tell if this is some kind of inside joke or actual 2026 tech talk
