Isn't most of the point of computers driving us so they can react to things we can't? I dont know why that bit would be turned off... Seems seriously problematic. Secondly, that looks like a really bad place to be pushing your bike at night.
My thoughts exactly. I was hoping to find something more useful than the same benefits t I'd get from a free azure subscription.
Because it's borderline insanity. "I don't like your state's policy on x, so bye." Trying to bully entire governments is not cool.
You would have to add a right turn arrow for your logic to pan out.
It's also a problem with people not being smart enough to pass someone on a bike, which causes everyone in cars anger. I can't wait for cars to be not operated by humans. It will be safer for everyone.
I live in an area with very little pedestrian traffic. Getting rid of right on red would just make traffic worse and add confusion.
It was only local.
They can also delete media from your phone. Had a graphic video of that carnival ride breaking and killing someone and it was deleted...
Maybe you want to turn on airplane mode and put it in "airplane mode" for double-meassure security. Maybe you want a Faraday cage made with the finest craftmenship. Maybe you just want to ignore work and tell your boss that it wasn't possible because your phone had no signal and it wasn't your fault it had no signal (in case your employer keeps track of that sort of thing.)
I would have totally taken away admin and maxed UAC. "Why can't I install this Ralphy?" "Because it's a virus!" Personally, I like the choice of app stores and installing anything or installing a third party app store.
>It is clearly stated in GDPR that it should be as easy to opt-out as opt-in The opt-out being leaving the site. Fines to companies outside the EU are probably going to be fruitless.
http://moralmachine.mit.edu The general law is that people always have the right of way unless it's unavoidable. It's important that self driving cars do their best to not kill people and follow the law. Though, I don't think all these 'kinks' will be out for another 10 years.
I really dislike converting Python to a different language. What type is this? Go 5 libraries down to find out ;)
I sleep 6 hours during the week and 10 hours on the weekend. I pretty much only remember my dreams on the weekend. I wonder how much that relates to sleep deprivation. I only lucid dream if I sleep for 10 hours on vacation.
Cefsharp with the winforms host is good. I'm not sure how anyone can stand the wpf version though... No matter how simple I made the app, it was still noticibly laggy with it having to render in such the terrible way. I looked at chromely for a few minutes but the amalgamation of all those projects turned me off.
Probably actual rise -- access to the internet and news has increased to nearly e everyone and it's all depressing. You can view the constant stupidity and ignorance of the nation and get upset or ignore it... Those are pretty much your only options. I choose to mostly ignore it...
Re:I miss Windows Phone on Saturday April 07, 2018 @11:42AM (#16781207)
It wasn't an option. They turned it on without asking for many people and you had to disable it with a flag.
Apple doesn't have a dedicated MacOS development team anymore and laptops are normally harder to steal/gain access than phones. They have had quite a few security vulnerabilities in the past few months that anyone with physical access could exploit.
It really annoys me that these articles spread like wildfire... I read it and was like no way did I read that right... Just no way. Not sure why Google likes promoting this kind of story (entirely fictional) especially when it comes to science and biology.
ISPs are paid to handle the connection between you and the WWW. The bandwidth they charge you for is the highway. Them throttling services is not fair because you're paying for that highway. What about them charging more would make you think the rest of the internet will eliminate ads?
The Android permission scheme is slowly becoming more granular. I'm not sure what the reason was from the beginning to have such generic permissions. When you saw large lists of permissions on apps before marshmallow, you had to accept them all, now it requests for each on first use but I'm still not a fan of apps that want everything.
I would like the speed limit on my interstates and highways to go up to 70(they're all straight. 55 is just the only speed limit around here). Driving at 65-70 feels safe in normal conditions. Driving above 70 feels a bit too fast. Speed limits should be more variable depending upon car size and braking power though. I hate having to fear that I might be pulled over for going a bit above the speed limit when there are so many more threats than just speed. I don't believe speed limits should be anything more than a suggestion with dangerous driving being the focus.
Re:AWS documentation is now open source and on GitHub on Tuesday March 13, 2018 @11:38PM (#16582081)
I don't want to make the same mistake when doing something. It's more of a service to other people than to Amazon (People probably aren't going to choose a different service based on documentation). It also helps to have different viewpoints from levels of experience to help with wording and such.
This is good, as it seemed Intel was about to buy broadcom after it bought Qualcomm. Considering they're all the main competitors for chipsets and such, this prevents [complete monopolization] of those markets. These companies remaining under different companies at least lets fail and succeed with their own style

That and Google is really bad at removing dead code from OSS projects. Looking through projects like Omaha is a pain.
Remember that High Sierra update that left a nice privilege elevation bug for like a month? That never happened... If you never admit to it, it never happened. Apple's security philosophy.
Trucks are safer to ride in than small cars. They have more utility than small cars. Your coworkers may want to have a vehicle that has the ability to do something. Parking is a bit of a hassle but as long as you don't have solid traffic, they're fine to handle. Small cars are more fun to race. Trucks and Jeeps are more fun to run trails.

I don't know what the internal structure of Amazon looks like, but having more management for different sectors is certainly good.

If you bought a shield tv, you could have Amazon prime video. They're pretty nice. I'm kind of disappointed in the new model, though. It's nice having a fully functional Android device that can gamestream, use apps that aren't made for tv with the gamepad, and stream video.
Re:Google and HTTP on Sunday February 25, 2018 @09:46PM (#16462685)
Let me tell you why this is very dishonest: 1. The internet was built without trust in mind because it was a simple connection between universities and government. There wasn't much need for security. Now that the internet exists, there is a great need for security. 2. Https is better than http. It's an evolution. It's not impossible to get a certificate. To verify who you are and to protect your users. 3. If you don't care about your users' privacy, perhaps you shouldn't be hosting sites. To be completely honest, Google is a bit slow with this. I know the difficulty it posses, but it's worth it. We need to stop passing unencrypted data. We need the internet to finally care about security and privacy. The internet has evolved, ipv4 has been used up (in terms of devices). It's time.
