You can get physical exercise precscription from your doctor and/or physical therapist where I live. For both physical or mental health issues. It then gets wrapped into our single payer health care system and is subsidized just the same...
IBAN is the international bank number.
My employer does not, they do cover my phone bill though.
But their money maker isn't really Terraform, it's Vault.
I use the iPhone 13 mini, it's marginally bigger than the SE.
Nice work, would be awesome if I could filter on country.

I love when being treated fairly is liberal gospel.

A guess would be that game servers are distributed across the globe but backend services l are in one place. A common pattern in game companies.
Re:I Don't Want to Be on Call Anymore on Monday November 29, 2021 @12:38AM (#29376780)
We get a flat ~800$ for an on call week (Thursday to Thursday) and Friday is off. Nothing extra for working night, but you’re not expected to work a full day if you had an incident the night before.
Their Enterprise versions, primarily Vault and Consul AFAIK.
Re:Rent control isn’t working in Sweden on Thursday August 26, 2021 @12:22PM (#28316982)
It already is illegal to make a profit by sub letting a rent controlled apartment in Sweden.
Re:Strange domain names that developers bought on Thursday August 12, 2021 @02:19AM (#28152632)
Back in my late teens/early twenties me and some friends talked about starting an industrial band (think Neubauten...) and calling it Slashignore.

I now own slashignore.it for our break through, any year now...

Re:Infra-as-Code is cloud lock-in on Saturday August 07, 2021 @12:34PM (#28099857)
For larger environments infrastructure drift is a much bigger headache then that Terraform has to store a json blob somewhere. Having a combination of state and reading running state (like Terraform does) is crucial to have a tool that can scale for large environments.
Re:Ask HN: Do you self-host your database? on Tuesday June 29, 2021 @03:32AM (#27672947)
We don't, the maintenance cost in man hours was way to high and replacing it with AWS Aurora made it at least as reliable with a lot less overhead.

On the plus side we can do ad hoc tests and experiments by creating a new Aurora cluster with a recent snapshot and try things out.

Re:Toward Vagrant 3.0 on Friday June 11, 2021 @03:51PM (#27477671)
The VMWare plugin for Vagrant is now OSS and free as well.
Re:Take a look at Nomad before jumping on Kubernetes on Monday March 01, 2021 @09:27AM (#26303037)
Yes it can.

"For machine-friendliness, Nomad can also read JSON-equivalent configurations. In general, we recommend using the HCL syntax."

Re:Nomad v1.0 release – workload orchestration on Tuesday December 08, 2020 @03:25PM (#25350850)
There's no requirement on Consul for deploying Nomad, and storage support is in Beta right now.
Huh? Terragrunt has support for the same things that Terraform supports, a wide variety of different cloud providers (and other API enabled services).
Sweden has 480 days of paid parental leave.

Re:Cloudflare silently deleted my DNS records on Monday February 24, 2020 @02:14PM (#22407318)
Dnsimple is a registrar as well. I have my personal domains there.
Istio uses Envoy for the data plane.
Re:Nebula, Slack's Open Source Global Overlay Network on Tuesday November 19, 2019 @06:30PM (#21579526)
With Consul intentions and edge gateways you may be able to have the same functionality, but those are quite recent and was not present 2 years ago.
Re:A developer goes to a DevOps conference on Saturday September 28, 2019 @02:29PM (#21102024)
Just like developers cobble together apps that are barely operable. Hard coding IP addresses, opening connections with no timeouts, and lacking basic understanding what the difference is between DNS and HTTP.
Re:A developer goes to a DevOps conference on Saturday September 28, 2019 @02:21PM (#21101961)
Don’t be, doing SRE internships will give you the most comprehensive introduction to all aspects of developing and operating software. For me when reviewing candidates that would be a huge plus.
Re:Terraform 0.12 on Thursday May 23, 2019 @10:18AM (#19992020)
Where does Terraform claim to follow semver?
Re:Infrastructure as Code, Part One on Saturday April 13, 2019 @02:57PM (#19655020)
I'm trying to write something snappy, but honestly you're just rude. Your shitting on my profession and from here it looks like you've only ever operated extremely simple production environments.

(Those examples, the real world ones, where from competent software developers that did product development, not operations people).

Re:Infrastructure as Code, Part One on Saturday April 13, 2019 @01:12PM (#19654321)
What I've seen is that when you get a real programming language for IaC you'll end up with a half assed, poorly implemented and documented version of a declarative DSL that is organization specific.

I saw it with early versions of Chef, I've seen it with Apache Auroras python based job specs for Mesos etc.

I'd rather work around the limitations of a DSL that is declarative and limited but is consistent across orgs than having to retrain myself if I move to a new job.

Re:Julian Assange arrested in London on Thursday April 11, 2019 @06:49AM (#19632917)
It wasn't dropped, the statute of limitations ran out because JA refused to be interviewed by the prosecutor and hid in an embassy.
